The CW380 pistol has a 2.58 inch barrel, an overall length of 4.96 inches and a height of just 3.9 inches. It weighs just 10.2 ounces without a magazine. The pistol has a black polymer frame and features 4140 steel inserts molded into the front and back of the frame for added rigidity. It has a machined, solid 416 matte stainless steel slide and a textured polymer grip.

The Kahr CW380 features a lock breech, modified Browning type recoil lug, and utilizes Kahr's seven patents including the "safe cam" action found in all Kahr pistols. The result is a micro-compact pistol with very little recoil and quick follow-up shots. The pistol features drift adjustable white bar-dot combat rear sight and pinned-in polymer front sight.

Differences between the Kahr CW380 and Kahr P380 models include: the CW series has a conventional rifled barrel instead of the match grade polygonal barrel found on P models; the CW slide stop lever is MIM (metal-injection-molded) instead of machined; the CW series slide has fewer machining operations, and uses simple roll marking instead of engraved markings; the P380 comes with two magazines, but the CW series comes with one 6 rd steel magazine with flush baseplate. Lastly, the slide locks back after firing the last round – another feature missing on a number of other value-priced compact semi-auto pistols. The durability and reliability of the CW380 model makes it a strong consideration as a backup gun for law enforcement.

Great Little Pistol
A few very sharp edges on the slide but all of the surfaces that affect operation are polished and pristine. Recoil is unbelievably manageable for such a tiny pistol. As a matter of fact it's no worse than my 9 mm Springfield XDS. The CW380 is also very accurate for a 2.6" barrel. I believe this is partly due to a precision-machined chamber (i.e. machined to the smaller end of the SAMMI tolerance).

So far I have had terrible problems with Fiocchi ammo. It simply will not chamber. It's definitely the ammo. The extractor groove in the brass is narrower than spec. creating too much drag against the Kahr's meaty extractor and if there's a crimp ring at the base of the round the outside diameter is also larger than spec. Every other brand I've tried has cycled without issue. In 350 to 400 rounds I've only had one FTF and it occurred after shooting 200 consecutive rounds of cheap dirty ammo. A little pressure to the back of the slide and it chambered.

I carry this pistol in situations when my XDS is too big to hide or when I need to utilize pocket carry for one reason or another. I trust my life to it... as long as there's no Fiocchi in the magazine.

Should have learned my lesson from my previous CW9
I previously owned a CW9 when Kahr 1st released them it had feed issues & was ammo sensitive - fluff & buff didn't help much. I kept it for a year or so but never felt comfortable carrying it. Fast forward a couple years PSA had a screaming deal on CW380's Sept of 2014. Figured that I didn't have much to loose. In the last year I've run at least 250 rounds of 380 from 4 or 5 different manufacturers I've also fluffed & buffed this one. My CW380 is almost unusable it will not cycle a full magazine without at least one failure of the slide to go fully forward into battery. I've sent it back to Kahr hopefully they'll get it sorted out 1st go around. I've heard several stories about multiple trips back. Just bought a new G42 & LCP Custom (red trigger) to replace this CW380 300 rounds through both without a hiccup - that's what we should expect.

Best Little Gun I own.
I bought this little pistol for my wife to use but she's yet to fire it. I on the other hand always seem to have a reason for dragging it along to the range. It's a blast to shoot. Shoots all kinds of .380 ammo with no FTFs no FTEs. Sweet little gun at a sweet little price. My buddy and I even plan "chick days" which are when we take our little .380 "chick guns" to the range and leave our big manly 1911A1 .45's at home in the safe. The only problem I've noticed thus far has been that I tend to "sashay" quite a bit when walking and carrying this little pistol concealed. A small price to pay I say.

Nice pocket pistol
I bought my CW380 from PSA several months back and I have been quite pleased with its performance. While it won't win any competitions it will fill center mass up to about 25 feet. It is safe and reliable and easy to conceal in your front pocket. Paired with good defensive rounds (Federal HST or Remington Micro) it makes an excellent EDC gun. If you're considering a pocket pistol for CCW this is it!
