Anyone else having failure to extract issues with the AAC 7.62x39 Black Tip in AKs? The stuff runs fine in my KS-47, but gives me a stoppage every 40 rounds or so in my AKM.
Looks like the extractor isn’t holding or is “running over” the rim, not tearing through it. Cases easily removed with a cleaning rod, so easily that I don’t think it’s a “stuck case” scenario. Nothing visible wrong with the extractor (to my novice eyes, at least). That AKM runs just fine with Ingram brass case, haven’t tried any other steel case yet.
Havent had any issues in my 104. Is your AKM a PSA or another brand?
Gotcha. Could be it just doesnt like that ammo or could be a mag issue. Try some other steel case and a different brand mag.
Same issue here with my AR’s. I’ve built three 7.62x39 uppers and none of them will extract this ammo reliably. Tried different bolts, extractors, etc. and they get stuck and don’t extract at all or extract half way and the next round gets jammed into them. Steel case (Tula, Wolf) and brass case work fine in all of my uppers. But the AAC stuff won’t. I love the price but something is out of spec or that coating is messing with extraction.
