They are so dishonest in their reasoning also. It is not for public safety. When I was a kid Colorado was the place I thought would be amazing to live… That’s too bad.
There is zero reason to ban rifles based on public safety because rifles are used so sparingly in murders it barely even registers as a statistic.
Nearly all felonies committed with firearms are with pistols, and illegally owned and illegally carried ones at that.
Nobody that ever wants to ban semi-auto rifles has ever been able to refute this point.

I lived it. 2 hometowns destroyed. Newark NJ then the town my Dad thought wouldn’t get drug down by being near Newark {big error] it was soon after and then we moved 70 miles away.
Family that stayed too long:
Uncle murdered for pocket change on his nightly walk.
Mom assaulted at the food store. “I want to stay by friends” - that ended in minutes.
Aunt and Uncle violently beaten bloody in a home invasion. [Shoulda left when my Mom was attacked.]
Newark like Philthadelphia and other drat holes has ruined every city and town around it for 20 + miles.
Hopefully a new day has dawned but I’m not holding my breath.
