Thinking of picking up some of the AAC 5.56 ammo but wanted to see if anyone has any thoughts on it first.
just finished firing 40 rounds this morning, no FTF, FTE or any other issues. 16" barrel with bipod and sand bag at 50 yards. no regrets.
That’s pretty good. I’ll order a couple hundred (if they’re in stock still). It’s a reasonable price!
awesomee. i also read somewhere that they are going to be producing 300blk soon, like next week… that said, im relaying that from memory, so please dont hold me to it or them to it either.
I’m glad this was asked… I saw the AAC Ammo and thought, “dang, this is good…if it’s good ammo”. Thanks for the pics… That made me order some now…
DH
its great ammo… and from when i went on the tour of the plant, the machinery is all brand new, and its done up right… the plant is beautiful if a ammo plant can be such a thing, and i trust AAC ammo without question now that PSA owns them and produces them.
Outdid Federal AE in my experience.
Cycles flawlessly, has reasonable repeatability and accuracy, at a pretty good price point.
Two Snaps Up!

I just shot 30 rounds of the 208gr A-Max subsonic 300 blk ammo and was not impressed. I’m going to fire some more tomorrow to make sure before I pass my final verdict. The shots were all over the paper at 25 yards and even left tiny copper chunks in my suppressor. I shot them through a DDM4 300 blk 10.3” barrel with a Dead Air Sandman S suppressor. I shot another 30 using Fiocchi subsonic and put bullets through the same hole.
Wow, that’s pretty interesting. Chunks of copper in the suppressor is not good and needs to be investigated. Wish I could help you with that, but I don’t have much experience with suppressors in general. One thing I’m pretty sure of is the bullet is being knocked off course (copper trailings).
I’m sure someone here could chime in! You might want to start another thread because a lot of people will be interested - know I am because I was ready to buy a couple boxes of that 208gr A-Max.
I’ve shot 2,000 rounds of 5.56mm NATO and 500 9mm 124 grain FMJ. I had one malfunction of 5.56mm NATO. Got another 1,000 rounds on 5.56mm NATO on the way. It’s good ammunition.
Most of this ammunition has been shot through this gun…
I probably should! I shot the first 30 using the AAC 208gr. I took my suppressor off to check and see if there was something wrong. I could hear small clinking inside and thought I had a baffle strike. I took the suppressor off and inspected to see and no strikes. Just small chunks of bullet came out. I’m going to shoot another magazine or two tomorrow to see. It’s not looking good though. A YouTube reviewer had problems with both the 208 and 220. I’m starting to become skeptical of the quality! The price might be too good to be true!
Understandable. I’d think AAC would want to know about this since they have brand new state-of-the-art machinery. You really should start another thread to not mix up discussions with 5.56.
Dumb question but how do you start a new thread? I can see and reply to existing ones but don’t see where to start a new one?
For some reason I don’t have a “New Topic” button to click on. Is there something I’m doing wrong?
Ahh, its because you’re a new user. Your trust level hasn’t increased yet to allow you to make new posts. I’ll PM you on this.
Thank you for your help!
