Do any of you know if PSA is working on an upgrade for the bolt release on the ARV? I asked the same question about a year ago I was hoping something had made progress
Nothing that i am aware of.
Maybe somebody from PSA will see this and try again
My fix for that was to put the bolt forward ( the bolt release works smoothly without a magazine in it) and use the charging handle to chamber the first round. I too would like to know why it is so hard to release the bolt with a magazine in it!
They need to make a larger lever or change the bolt so it releases easier
This is my solution to providing positive leverage to the bolt release… the 1st is using a 5/8" rubber gromet with a 5/8" screw OR using the same 5/8" screw with a 1/4" rubber gromet.
I picked my AR-V up at the beginning of April this year and all it really took was about 500 rounds through it and now it functions without any issues or modifications. Absolutely rigid initially, but again it breaks in fine and relatively quickly.
Top Gun Mounts. 3D black plastic, comes with the screw to attach it. Nice bluntly checkered top, looks “right”. Only issue is they made them so they stick out about 3/4" - which is great for competition guys, but more than I need. However, it’s easy enough to trim the excess width and sand it smooth, rechamfer the hole so the screw will countersink, then trim the screw to the correct length for the new width (or spend the $0.30 and buy one).
HUGE upgrade to “quality of life” and useability, for $13.
Top Gun Mounts (PSA doesn’t want me to post the link for some reason.)
@geodkyt because you are spamming the same link you have already posted. Please stop doing that
