Do all of the ARVs have a problem with the bolt slamming home when you bump it with an inserted mag (not sure if only loaded does it or also unloaded)? I wanted to swoop one up but was hoping one of them was less or not prone to do that at all and that would be the one I would get. Thanks in advance.
My AR-V doesn’t do that, but it’s probably a more recent version (8 months old??). If i have time tomorrow, I’ll slam some mags and see again.

It has happened on a few and was a small problem. Call CS, they will fix it.
Ok cool so its not a design flaw but a mass production hiccup ince in a while. Thats what i was worried about.
It is not a design flaw. Iirc, it had to do with the spring in the bolt catch.

Good to know makes me feel better about getting one
After slamming on the mag about 10 times, the bolt released. I did this with 2 different mags both made by PSA (U9-35) - the only ones I have. I really had to whack the inserted mag hard several times before it released, so it’s not a concern for me. It’s never done it before, so I’m sure the lubrication to the bolt catch didn’t help. I’m guessing that most slide or bolt catches can be released with a hard enough thump in the right place. For me, I don’t lock the bolt back very often - mostly if someone else is going to be looking at the firearm.
Hmm ok so its not as bad as people make it out to be. I read that they say the slightest bump and it slams forward
Like GuitarGuy mentioned, there was something with the spring in the bolt catch - seems like that problem went away quite a while ago. As hard as I had to thump mine to make it release, it makes me less concerned about it. It also makes me realize that I don’t want to leave it locked open while traveling/hunting/etc! (maybe one of those orange chamber indicators inserted if I must).
