Barrel not seating completely

I have been having a problem with the firing pin hitting off to the outer edge of the primer and sometimes that results in the round not going off. It has been getting worse the more I use the Dagger and the other day I had 4 rounds not go off out of 4 mags one in each. In the past I had just blamed the ammo since I buy the cheap practice stuff. This time I decided to ask the armorer at TSA and he told me that my barrel was not fitting properly so was not locking all the way in place like it should.

He showed me that with the gun empty and no mag that if I rack the slide and watch the barrel at the breech end closely when I dry fired it that the barrel would actually move up a little bit, he is telling me it should not do that and that is why the firing pin is hitting off center, basically the barrel is not seated down all the way. I have a warranty claim opened but before I send it back I wanted to ask here to see if this seems reasonable? I have a red dot on it so before I strip it down and ship it off I wanted to make sure it makes sense.

I would send it in.

Welcome to the forum @cdfinley

My guess, based on my experience, is the throat may be short. My TWO dagger barrels had very short throats which caused the slide to lock up tight as a ■■■■■’s heart if I loaded a round. So tight I couldnt rack it open. Had to bang the rear sight on edge of a table to clear it. I didnt dare shoot it that way, though it may have fired.

Remove barrel and plunk test. Look it up.
