Has anyone used the WeaponTech AK-47 Enhanced BHO Followers. I was wonder how well they work, they aren’t very expensive and I thought it be a nice add instead of a click, when I’m out.
Bolt hold open mag follower or not….your first hint that your out of ammunition will be pulling the trigger……without a bang. If the BHO follower held the bolt back far enough to easily lock it back with the safety….there might be some advantage to it….BUT….to the contrary….the bolt is now imparting additional pressure on the magazine……which you need to remove and replace.
Ideally …you want the LEAST amount of resistance when removing an empty mag and replacing it with one that gets your gun up & ready. I personally have never understood the advantage of this mag follower on the AK……BHO or not….you still have to work that action after you run empty.
Practice “DRY” (no-ammo) reloading drills in your back yard….or during commercial breaks while watching TV in your living room. You don’t need ammo (expensive) to do this….just a belt mounted mag pouch….include some trigger squeeze practice in there and your on your way to slick fast reloads. People don’t admit it to non-shooters……but we all know that we love this type of practice. It pays off at the range when the others see you doing those quick-slick reloads…….”Ya—-He’s been practicing !
! ! ! ! Make sure your AK is Clear & Safe when doing this….those Flat Screen LEDs are expensive ! ! !

They work fine, but make sure the magazine you are using them in can take them. For example Magpul and PSA mags will not. I like having them for the convenience, but not everyone sees it that way.

I am going to try them in Bulgarian Steel mags, I am hoping the followers will fit. I ordered them, they haven’t arrived yet.

I use them in Bulgarian polymer mags, and I can’t imagine them using different followers in the steel, so probably.
Many shooters like the BHO followers……but I am not smart enough understand what advantage the BHO follower offers.
Can someone explain to me any advantage with the BHO followers ?
