UPDATE
Being there on weekends for me is not enough but ill take what I can get. I have to work during the week. He is opening his eyes more when I talk to him and he continues to make small improvements each day. Keep on praying.
I have asked, I will PM you.
I’m in to assist how I can, as well. If someone sets up a donation or whatever, post for us, please.
Looks like the Corona isn’t through with us yet
6:30 last night my youngest suddenly gets sick. He was up all night
11:30 this morning my wife took him for a Covid test
3:40 this afternoon we get an email and phone call from the high school saying that my son had close contact/exposure to someone that has just tested positive
While I had serious doubts my oldest had it last week, this is the exact opposite. I’m about 99.99% positive that he’s got it
MFer…
I’m at the point I really don’t trust these tests. I have seen false positives and false negatives.
Personally, I’ve seen neither as you insinuate.
But I have seen two relatives on my fathers side die from from it. I spent a week in the hospital and 5 more at home on oxygen recovering from it, and I still suffer from the effects. I’ve seen my wife suffer from it, and my oldest son suffer with it twice.
And now “allegedly” my youngest.
Should I doubt those 7 test results while I wait on the 8th result for my youngest boy?
Should I doubt Greg and Amy’s test results?
WTF is wrong with you?
Stop politicizing the illness with all the doubting. I pray it doesn’t affect you in the way it has my family, and countless others.
I’ve personally had covid. Rapid test said negative, they sent it out because I did have symptoms. That test came back positive. I don’t think it is widespread and I’m not diminishing the seriousness of covid by any means. But the fed government issued a directive a year ago on tests not working properly. I chalk this up to a) China has never been honest with us, b) Fauci has not been honest with us, and c) there is a lot of money avaliable when it comes to covid and how data is reported. I think it will take us 5 years, or even longer, to find out the truth.

If nothing else the human error factor in processing millions of tests has to be a substantial number. A small percentage maybe but that means nothing to the person with the false positive or negative.
Had I not self quarantined despite a negative test I could have easily spread it more. I’m thankful I had a light case, although my cough lasted for about 4 weeks.
Just left a meeting where my company’s new Covid OSHA compliant policy was unveiled.
Bottom line being if you are vaccinated you are considered to be impervious to Covid.
If not then you are a liability to society and will be treated accordingly.
Including:
Not being paid if ordered to quarantine.
Must undergo weekly test.
$100 per month surcharge added to insurance premium.
If you are unvaccinated and catch Covid at work while not wearing a mask or distancing you will be charged with a safety violation leading to a lost time accident.
Well I just had a covid test.
woke up this morning with a fever, but kids can’t go to school unless I have a negative test. The one time I am hoping for the flu.
Good luck. I hope you are negative.
One of my employees says a friend of his was told 2-7 days for test results.
I’m afraid all of this is going to lead to guys not reporting exposures and symptoms.
Sunday morning a coworker tested positive. he sounds like he has a real bad head cold. I feel like I have a bad cold. stuffy nose, dry cough no fever and feel like crap. so we are now doing the quarantine thing.
would get a test, however there are none to be had in my town.
all of us at work have had both vaccine shots and the booster.
Hopefully SCOTUS knocks this down before it takes effect.
I am by no means trying to diminish Covid.
I and my family had Covid at the end of July.
It sucked. I had not been that sick since elementary school flu, 50+ years ago. Thank God we all recovered quickly.
Over the Christmas holidays six of my wife’s family members caught Covid. All six were vaccinated and boosted. No one who had previously had Covid was affected.
my coworker that tested positive has had covid (positive test) and all three shots. another coworker had the same thing happen to him last year. both shots, then covid then the booster.
my doctor believes I had it last year even thought the test came back negative. I know I was sick for about a week with some of the covid symptoms.
in my opinion there is a lot of conflicting data out there.
That’s exactly what it will lead too. Here in SC, our Dept. Of Health (DHEC) has been running TV and radio ads because one of their labs hasn’t processed all the tests from Dec 2021…they are recommending people get retested if they need a negative to go back to work/school.
Update
Thanks. Here’s an update Opening his eyes alot. Still on breathing machine. Slow healing process. They continue to turn down his oxygen on the machine as well as the other settings which is good. Just trying to work with him to get these fevers down. They’re doing a scope in his lungs right now to clean him out some and get some samples to send to lab to see if any more antibiotics are needed. Please continue to pray Thanks
Thanks for the updates, rocky. Glad to hear he is improving. I was very fortunate with my covid experience. Had 2x vax, no booster, and caught what I assume was omicron. Moderate headache and 101 fever for 3 days. Missed Christmas with both sides of the family, but everyone understood.
Lots of things about the last couple years of covid are interesting, some concerning. But what amazes me the most is how dramatic the variety of symptoms can be between people with same and different strains and health. And navigating a small business through it has been…challenging. Fortufortunately for us here, my sister is very intelligent and has been a machine dealing with the administrative end of it.
The more I learn about it, the less I feel like I know.
Covid-19 is definitely a different animal than previous versions, SARS, MERS, Influenza, etc. This is likely due to the fact that it may well have originated as a result of human tampering. I personally think that it was not intentionally set free, but escaped aboard some lab tech that had been working with it. Once it was in the wild, it set about to destroying whatever it could.
There definitely seem to be major differences in how people react to it. If a person is obese or has other co-morbidities (more than 3/4 of the people who died from it, per the CDC chief), it is an absolute monster. Meanwhile, the young and healthy (even without vaccination) most often have no more than a flu-like reaction, unless they have something undiagnosed or just lost the genetic lottery it would seem.
Personally, I’ve had it and it sucked, but I am not afraid of it. I’ve been exposed to it a number of times since and have been fortunate enough that my immunity (or germaphobia - I carried sanitizer before it was cool!
) has kept me from getting it again. I really hope that Omicron is the final version that marks its mutation into a more virulent, but less lethal bug, akin to the yearly flu. Maybe then we can finally put an end to all this madness.
