Itās no surprise that Discover is going to be the first CC company to employ the gun and ammo purchase codes. In the past year Discover / Authorize.net have blocked all of my related purchases. My Discover card hasnāt worked for me since April 2021 so voted it off of the island.
I like to have a separate card that I use for specific types of purchases. That makes it easier to track annual spending on related things. Discover was my go-to card for one specific class of purchases. Now I donāt use it anymore.
Discover was the first to block transactions because of the āghost gunā and āghost gun partsā panics almost a year ago. I was already having trouble with Discover blocking my transactions even before the CC companies started talking about the MCC codes. I had no option but to stop using the Discover card and to use another card instead. I called the Discover C/S number and told them exactly why I was canceling my card ā I told them that itās not their prerogative to control how I spend my money, and if their card gets in the way of me making purchases then I have no use for it.
I like Langleyās idea ā even though heās almost year late waking up on what needs to be done.
I call foul on cncgobrrt ā you canāt go changing your post after someone replies to it, attacking them with the intent to make the other personās comments seem improper when deliberately taken out of context.
And of course it gets worseā¦

thatās who I work for, sort of. Weāve been sold, resold, merged, split, spun off etc. over the past 17 years. Sadly, EDS is no more.
IMO-I say good. In a riot or looting situations Iām more for order the Law Enforcement can leave their non lethals and handcuffs at home. Gotta work on tight groupings and moving targets.
