I bought my first Dagger expecting to hate and replace the trigger shoe in short order. I’m glad I didn’t pre-order a replacement trigger shoe for it, because turns out I actually really like the Dagger trigger shoe. I like it so much, I want to put the Dagger shoe on my Gen 5 Glock(s), and I can buy the shoe+bar combo for $25 (cheaper than most aftermarket triggers). Since most of the shoe-only aftermarket Glock triggers I see claim to fit all-glocks/all-generations, I presume that should be doable. However, I obviously can’t use a Dagger transfer bar on a Gen 5 Glock, but in theory swapping just the shoe onto the Glock transfer bar should be feasible. Which leads to my question(s):
Can a Dagger trigger shoe be removed from the transfer bar and re-installed on another without damaging it? (Glock triggers are typically damaged by removing them from the bar)
Does anyone know if there’s something different about the Gen 5 Glock trigger or transfer bar that would inhibit putting a Dagger trigger shoe on it?
As far as I’m aware nothing changed in the trigger guard area but the Dagger shoe may be too wide for a Gen 5 on the inside since it uses a different ambi slide stop lever setup that goes around both sides of the trigger. Could take the trigger bars out and measure/just eyeball compare the widths and see.
I would but I recently sold off my Gen5.
So if the shoe should go off and back on without damaging it, I may just have to go for it. Even if I had to sand some plastic a little for fitment, I can swing that. Or if its nowhere near working, I can just put it back on a Dagger. I was most worried that removing it from the bar would damage it/make it hard to reinstall on another bar.
I will try to remember to update this thread with my results.
well I can tell you for a fact the regular Glock 17 trigger bars they’re slightly thicker than psa trigger bar. so if you want to put the PSA shoe on your Glock you’re going to have to remove some material on the trigger bar in the front. where it fits into the shoe
I actually tried it a couple of my Glocks because I like the trigger shoe myself I believe on the 43x the trigger bar is slightly thinner but it’s still a tight fit… what happens is the shoe won’t reset. because of the tight fit. the good news is you can make it work.
