Feeding and failure to eject with muzzle brake psa dagger

Got my first dagger today and installed muzzle brake on it before hitting range. Had multiple failure to feeds with fiochi brass case (see pic), then tried blazzer brass ammo with multiple failure to ejectS. Took brake off and had no issues. Is there anything i can try? Weaker recoil spring?

Different springs should help. Thats a lot of weight on the front, but not as much as a can. Although a can has the internal spring to help it cycle.

This is why suppressors have boosters due to the added weight on the muzzle. A weaker spring may work, I’d call the brake manufacturer, l’m sure they have been asked this question before and know the best fix.

Exactly! That brake is too heavy! It looks like a whole 1800 sq/ft brick ranch on the end of that barrel!

:joy:, i tried to be cheap ass and got it off ebay

Well there’s your problem. Never buy gun stuff off ebay.

And if you do, and this happens, share with the forum for the community’s aggregated admonishment, consolation, education, and amusement.

I learned my lessons but you wouldnt believe how much airsoft accessory crap I used to press into service back in the day. Still do sometimes, but totally for the memes.

Having exact same issue with SUAREZ STREET COMP. Do you guys recommend any particular weight recoil spring? Thanks in advance!

What’s the weight on that Suarez? I went to their site, but it doesn’t say. Also there are no reviews of it there either.

I am unable to find it either, but I have seen people with this comp on their daggers. I will weight it once i get a chance and i will send an email to Suarez regarding the weight of the comp. In the mean time should I still try 13lb-15lb recoil spring? Thanks

I wish I could say. This is the first I have heard of using a different recoil spring to compensate for a compensator. But I’m not well versed with compensators, my experience with muzzle devices is limited to suppressors.

A compensator doesn’t add weight to the slide. The port design may affect the recoil, however, Suarez claims this shouldn’t be the case. I’d definitely see what Suarez recommends before I start mucking with springs. You change the recoil spring then there are potential issues with the striker spring and so on.

The Suarez Street Comp is threaded with the standard 1/2x28 thread pitch. It features a multiple port design allowing the use of factory recoil units. There will be no need to change springs when installing this street comp. It also features a front sight hole, allowing you to transfer your existing front sight from your slide to the street comp.

Good eye!! I will contact SUAREZ first before ordering the 13/25lb recoil springs. Thanks!

@FortemVos Did you ever get a response or solution for this from Suarez? Just ordered a Dagger and this seems like a solid comp.

using a lighter recoil spring makes the slide go back easier, increases the slide action making it feel lighter than if you got frame cuts… however thinking about the problem you described i think a heavier spring would actually be the solution so it counters the weight on the front end. Like +20lb

edit: plus a heavier recoil spring will reduce the muzzle flip as much (so in reality probably more) as you think the comp will…

Any update on the fix? I’m running into the same issue after installing a brake

The easy solution is to remove the brake. Are you using your dagger in competitions and therefore need a brake?

It was probably made for a glock. While the dagger certainly uses glock parts, it isnt a glock. You probably need a recoil spring change.

Hey! Did you ever find a solution to this problem? Also i am looking to build a similar type Dagger, and was curious on the kind of holster you used.
