A friend calls me about this 300 he bought used and sends me this pic. So you gonna SBR it l asked? He knew not what l was talking about. The education begins.

Quick inspection and some lube…he had to shoot it before the breakdown.

Stripped screw on the pic rail forced me to remove the lower handguard that l did NOT want to do. PSA uses red loctite. 3/8 drive torx and small hex…thankful the 4 broke free! Needing a good cleaning and l learned how gassy piston driven action is. Back to the tapper screws on this upper, if left unloved they will rust.
But overall l am impressed and it feels as heavy as my H&K 93 rifle! No SBR so going SB Tactical, new muzzle, fire control, and a few 300 dedicated mags on order. The optic…he’s gonna run that Truglo/Vortex for now :laughing:

I did and I’m right-handed. Subs was enjoyable and functioned fine with no adjustment.

I’m Lefty and shot one @ the Gathering last year and didn’t care for it too much. To be fair though, it was set up for a righty.

Other than the CH hitting my support hand, even being beefy, it still felt great right up until I pulled the trigger.

A friend of mine built his wife a “lefty” AR. I shot it left-hand and it seemed natural to me?

Sure looks it to me. Was it offered 2 tone? Could it have been a rifle in the beginning?

Not offered in 2 tone. probably an upper and lower each bought separately.

When buying used how do you know if original buyer bought a lower as rifle or pistol?

i’ve got an odg 300 blk and i love that jakl. its awesome. comfortable and fun to shoot. personally boht my jakls are great, the 556 pistol and the 300blk pistol. i want to expand my jakl lineup, but the 308 seems mighty heavy for me. i may still bite… just waiitng to see if they offer it in pistol size too.

I am just helping a friend that had no clue. As you can see he is legal now! Doing my best to save his arse, first time operator, legally educate him. BE ADVISED readers l seek a legal avenue of my friend and setup; a folding brace is on it’s way. 19Foxtrot out.

I’m not trying to give your friend a hard time because a lot of people don’t realize it’s illegal. But I would correct him in private and not post evidence. Thats all I’m saying :man_shrugging:
