Hey all got a 8 “ arv mlok and wondering if anyone has a light mounted? Not much real estate to mount things so I’d appreciate any input if anyone has a light on an 8 “
So I’ve had a 7”, and now a 9” handguard.
Just like a pistol, I mount my laser/light combo underneath in the 6 o’clock position, in front of my handstop. I’ve used the same mounting position on both lengths, and really like it. I think it makes for a much cleaner install vs hanging a light off the side.
Well damn I never really liked the 6 o’clock position but yours looks like a pretty slick set up! Thanks for sharing

I went the cheap route with one of these

And installed one of these…
It’s plenty bright for 2 AA batteries which are readily available. Did have to use the shims to fit cause it’s a skinny flashlight. I mounted it with the tail switch right about the 10 o’clock position so it’s easy to use my thumb to turn it on. I’m very happy with the setup. Although I’m considering upgrading to a $20 rechargeable one with an 18650 battery.

which I thought was a better deal, but the gas block got in the way of the mlok screws.
I think that ones going to be way too long for the 8 inch barrel setup?
It is a great light but I think it’s length is going to be restrictive on that rail as far as leaving room for grip
Yeah, it’s slightly long, mine’s on an 11.5" tho. The rechargeable 18650 ones on Amazon like the Wuben or Peetpen are shorter and thicker too so wouldn’t need the shims.

I did an olight baldr pro with green laser on my bottom rail.

Streamlight Pro-Tac HL-X, 1,000 lumen. I have 2 one at 3 o clock on the AR with pressure switch. and 9 o’clock on the shockwave. I have been very happy. See attached is the shockwave with a GG&G mount

Do you get any shadow from the can? Is the light pretty tight to the handguard? And what mount do you have on the light?
I personally went with the DD offset flashlight mount. I mounted it to top rail and the flashlight sits at nine o’clock. (That way didn’t have to deal with mlok clearance issues with flash can) and still leaves real estate to grip
@lanceschul that’s the factory mount. It gets a little shadow from the can but no way to avoid that no matter where the light is.
