to me(no expert) it looks like someone did a hack polish job on the feed ramp ,he wants to know if he should take it back or if im just being overly cautious (dudes like a brother to me)
It just seems really wide and an odd angle to me but I havent seen enough to know …
Has he shot it? I would try standard FMJ and see how it does.
Im with GG, id go ahead and take it out and run some mags through it with different types of ammo, and see what it does. Id run FMJ’s and JHPs through it, an das long as it feeds without issue, you’re good to go. As far as the polish job, meh, idk if its really a butchered job or not, but i’d definitely go shoot that bad boy first.
At least try it first
he hasn’t yet and didn’t wanna go today cuz “the packa game is on” , and I’m starting to think it’s either just an earlier production model from Tisas as my Tisas has a wide ramp (compared to what I’ve seen online anyway) but the barrel chamfer is much closer to the ramp.
He said he’s going to take it back to the LGS for their opinion but I told him depending on who he talks to he might hear different opinions and that he should try to put some rounds through it to see, but my dude is an obstinate intractable mule of a person who didn’t listen to me when I told him to buy one of the on sale 1911’s from PSA and probably spent the same amount on the used one with potentially no manufacturer warranty and no guarantee the PO didn’t do things to affect the reliability. I dunno, I hope he figures it out ,I need a range buddy.
yeah you need to drag his butt out to the range with it first thing in the morning. lol

His idea of an early morning is 3 pm. I am the only early riser I know besides the father in law.
ahh. well you could try to get the in law to go … or wait till 3 then drag his butt out to the range lol
the inlaws and myself do not get along…
he probably wont have time to meet me out here (30 minute drive no traffic) and go to my preferred range (another 20 minutes from here) until the weekend. But I’ll push him to go then, it’ll be kind of fun to compare the two 1911’s me thinks.
yeah i think that sounds like a great idea. go shoot and have some fun.
i got lucky with my inlaws theyre great folks.
oh my in laws were fine, until I stood up for myself…everything went downhill from there.
yeah its funny how that happens.
Yeah, at least my wife still tells me she loves me.
ANNNND, my bud’s 1911 rans flawlessly (he only ran half a box through it, but 0 hiccups) I didn’t take mine with so I wasn’t able to verify but his seemed to kick a bit harder than I remember mine kicking…guess that could be due to influenza assisted weight loss .
Glad to hear his 1911 ran well @FitandFinish
oh me too, cuz now he’s planning his second purchase.

I’m going to have to find me a new shooting buddy, mine has bailed out the last 2-3 times.
man thats great that 1. your wife still loves you, and 2 your buddys gun ran flawlessly. im happy for you on both accounts.
Yeah, my wife is a far better woman than I deserve. Our kids can say what they want at my funeral ,but they better have some honeyed words on gilded flowery air, mixed with the tears unyielding sadness for my wife when she passes.
I’m in the same boat, minus the kids. I so dont deserve my wife.
