Gen 2 10.5” gas block

I just bought myself a gen 2 10.5” full Ks47 and will look into adding an adjustable gas block and maybe messing with the buffer spring or buffer.
My PSA premium 556 AR upper came with the gas block pinned my question is how does the KS47 gas block/barrel come??
Is the barrel dimpled or pinned or is there just a set screw or clamp for the gas block?

Also has anyone used an orange sprinco AR10 buffer spring or heavier buffer for the 10.5?

My 556 upper I got from PSA was pretty gassed up - the Geissele 10.5” model with FN CHF barrel I ended up using a blue sprinco with H3 buffer for unsuppressed - since the Ks47 comes with a PA10 carbine spring not sure how to move once it’s delivered. Trying to get all my parts together and ready so I can swap it out -

Thanks for any info or help y’all can pass along on this topic.

Most of our gas blocks do not come pinned. If I remember correctly, only the Geissele uppers are unless there is a special reason. If so, it will be stated in the description.

Welcome Spacedude! I have been considering putting an adjustable gas block on my 10.5" KS47 also. I was going to run a Geissele Super 42 Braided Wire Buffer Spring and Buffer Combo, probably an H1. Someone else mentioned this in another thread about not making the gun fight itself and switching to a carbine spring with dialed back gas.

Keep us posted on this build and let us know what you came up with!

Will do, I shot it for the first time tonight and had some issues. Stock configuration had failure to eject and bolt crushed the cases pretty bad. I think the ar10 buffer spring is too much, so put in a sprinco red and it barely ejected at a 2 o’clock pattern. So will have to test it out more tomorrow maybe even go down further to a blue sprinco or even try out a white carbine sprinco spring.

What brand of Ammo is that? Seems like a few people have had bad luck with that Belom brass. Did you try any steel case by chance?

It is Seller and Bellot, it’s what my range sales - but we have a ton of clients who use it and don’t have issues with it.
It ejected okay once I changed the buffer spring to a lighter AR15 one granted its a red enhanced sprinco buffer spring, I’ll try a regular carbine one tomorrow but need to take off the rail and take a look at the gas block. I’m hoping it’s a simple fix like that - like maybe it’s not aligned just right on the barrel so gas could be getting out maybe.
I’m in the process of getting a bunch of steel case ammo but I can’t shoot it where I work so will have to use brass for now since I can work on it and shoot for free where I work. Once I get the issue solved I may look into a Geissele braided buffer spring and buffer. I may not need an adjustable gas block from what I’ve seen so far tonight but can’t say for sure yet.
Sucks bc I really like it so far it’s a smooth shooter I just need to figure out the ejection issues.
I installed a new grip and extended grip screw to eliminate slack on the trigger, has a super crisp light reset now - also got rid of the mushy safety selector and installed a Geissele posi-snap safety selector and a Primary Arms green 1x ACSS MicroPrism cyclops. Tomorrow will take off the rail and see what the gas block looks like and if maybe it wasn’t installed correctly at PSA.
