Glock style safety

I have years of experience with rifles and shotguns but little with handguns. I will be buying a 9mm for home defense. I have never used a firearm without a manual safety. Can someone explain the safety system on the Dagger? I want to make sure I will be comfortable with whatever I buy. I will also get a CWP and carry occasionally.

Thanks

The trigger shoe is hinged. The trigger is prevented from moving to the rear unless equal pressure is applied to the bottom and top half of the trigger. There is no thumb safety on the dagger.

Is it considered strange that I like a thumb Saftey?! Hahaha
I mean, it doesn’t matter either way, but that’s something I actually look for. I feel like this is strange considering technically these days

I have many more hours with thumb safety guns (such as a 1911). I’ve caught myself practicing my draw looking for the thumb safety that isnt there…

So it’s not as strange hahaha!
I see it a lot, folks complaining when a gun has the thumb Saftey, and when I see that I kinda look away in shame

My comfort zone is a round in the chamber and safety on until I am ready to shoot. Maybe I need to learn a different way!

Nah, that’s my comfort zone too. I adjust easy but I prefer it

Carried 1911’s off duty for years, switched to glock for weight saving, to me carrying a glock is no different than carrying a revolver !

Have you been living under a rock for the past 30+ years?

Thumb safeties are not part of the polymer, striker fired pistol manual of arms.

Rugar Max9, S&W M&P series, and SA XD series all have options for thumb safeties.

They offer them, but I rarely see the manual safety options around me. They don’t seem to be as popular.

You apparently were under a rock when they passed out good manners. If you don’t have anything to add to the topic please feel free to keep your fingers off the reply button.

Not necessarily. My M&P45 gen1 has ambidextrous thumb safeties in addition to the hinged trigger. Also my M&P9 5" has thumb safeties. My Shield has a tiny nub, don’t really use it.
I can take or leave a thumb safety, but they exist in the polymer frame, striker fired world.
