Hello my fellow cheese enthusiasts!

Hey everyone, Paul from Minocqua here. Cool to see Wisconsin already has its own category here, but it doesn’t seem anyone is talking yet. That being the case, I figured I’d break the ice.

I’m curious if anyone knows of any good intermediate training courses in the state? I got my carry permit a few years ago, but I haven’t been able to find any courses that go beyond basic instruction. I’d love to work on pushing my skills further if possible.

@PaulplusP what’s up man. Lake Wisconsin here. Minocqua is pretty neat place. Been up there a few times for the usual cabin/fishing/boating trips.

don’t know much about in person training at the moment. Especially up in your neck of the woods.

You been using PSA awhile?

Kenosha county….hi all.

I just want to hit the woods and shoot. Where is the closest spot to Pleasant Prairie that i can just go out and shoot legally?

Hello from Racine County! No Bureau of Land Management in WI for shooting. Have to find private land. Cannot legally or ethically target shoot on public hunting grounds either.

Thx for the info. Now that the weather is nice i need a outdoor range.

@PaulplusP It’s a bit of a drive from Minocqua, but the Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton offers civilian tactical training through their Public Safety Training Center. You have to complete Civilian Tactical 1 to begin opening up the available training portfolio on the website. The cost covers ammunition and they provide firearms if you don’t have them. It is a live fire course with later courses going more in depth with handguns and long guns. The prices are fair and everyone I know that has taken them is very impressed with the training. Try “Two Ravens” in Sugar Camp/Three Lakes. Good people. Been at it a long time.
