Does it show? My collection so far. I think a MC9 is next.
Never understood why Canik gets a lot of love and Century takes a lot of grief.
A lot of the grief Century takes they earned but my experience with their Canik line has been positive.
you’re starting to look like me regarding 1911s… what is the reason you like your caniks so much? i never have been attracted to them
hell i’ve never held one much less fired one.
The Taran Tactical model has had me looking at Canik differently and really wanting one now. Speaking of Century though, Thunder Ranch has a new AK model with them that I would trust. I don’t think Clint would put his name on something he didn’t like or trust.
Mainly because they seem to a a lot of value for the dollar. I’m always looking to add to my collection and i do love a bargain.
im the same way. i love a bargin too… im beginning to t hink i may start building a collection of daggers though as much fun as im having building the few i have now, and how inexpensive its been to build them thus far… just a matter of being a good shopper.
I knew i wanted a TTI Combat when i first saw them. They were selling for around $1500 originally but i wasn’t going there. They finally got down to close to the $950 msrp and grabbed one. Now you can find them in the $850 range. A lot comes in the box for that price.
wow that is a lot of stuff in that case. what didnt they include!?!?! lol. so you feel they’re worth the price then and shoot wonderfully?
Personally I think their a heck of a deal but that’s just my experience.
The caniks i have had the chance to shoot were all excellent shooters.
So what makes you choose those over S&W, Sig, Glock, and the others?
I’m curious. Never touched one…
I just think they are a great value. Btw i own 4 Glocks and a couple of Sigs as well.
Are they all 9mm?
Yes all 9mm. I dont think Canik makes anything else. I’m hoping they come out with a 10mm while I’m still on this side of the dirt.
I could be wrong on my timeline but i think Canik was one of the first to offer an optics cut without charging a premium for it. Seems like most companies offer the optics cut as standard now but there was a time you had to fork out another $150/$200 just to get the OC. Glock still charges a premium for their MOS models for instance.
I have a Mete SFx Pro and it will not be my last Canik. My first experence with Canik was at the Gathering this past March. I was in the market for a full size optic ready 9mm and was leaning toward the Springfield Echelon…that is until I shot the Canik. I wanted the TTI but, could not wait for it. Been using the SFx Pro at my local club pistol competitions and it has been flawless. Well over 700 rounds through it and no issues what-so-ever. I added a Trijicon RMRcc, a Blast 45 comp, and color filled the markings. I still want the TTI but, think my next Canik will be a carry version, just not sure which one just yet. I highly suggest trying one out, it you’ve not had the opportunity.
What model do you think is a good one for someone just starting out? I’ve heard a lot of good things about Canik.
