I’ve been on the forum a bit as I have been piecing this Dagger together and I have finally gotten it assembled ( less my Holosun ) Looking forward to getting it holstered up and putting some rounds through it in the coming days but I must say the quality and finish is impressive considering the pricepoint.
My concern now that I have a complete firearm is the amount of creep in the trigger feels excessive. Did a couple of dry fire trigger pulls and it feels like forever before it gets to where it needs to be.
Question:
I would like to figure out how to shorten that length of travel in the trigger - what would I need to change to improve that?
but otherwise it seems like it will be a good option for carry/range
Gotcha. I’d like to not have to or want to do the research on a trigger and what goes into doing that - so I’ll try more tonight and see. All in all though I am happy so far with it - and been spreading the word about it as a viable option for sure!
The most affordable flat faced trigger is a polymer from P80. It reduced takeup by 25% (my guestimation), and it cost about 18 bucks with tax and shipping included from KM Tactical.
Here’s a pic of mine:
Additionally, I also tried a Ghost Inc Ultimate 3.5 connector, trying to shorten it up a little more, but ended up with multiple unwanted discharges with each trigger pull… in other words, the pistol would fire again sometimes more than once when the trigger returned to reset. Would definitely not recommend that connector…
So far, and partly because I am cheap, I opted for the polished trigger parts and it really does make a difference. My Dagger trigger is much smoother and that seems to create a lighter feel, which I think is caused by the grittiness being gone and slightly less resistance due to the polishing.
I suggest shooting your stock Dagger to get familiar with it and break it in, as others have recommended. Then polish the stock trigger and get some range time with that. If you like it, then you saved some money that can be spent on something else. If you still want a different trigger, perhaps you’ll have a somewhat better idea of how light and tight you want it to be.
Be careful because Dagger is addictive! Wishing safe and fun shooting to all.
Congrats on the Dagger, good pick I’m new to the dagger also, I got mine a few weeks ago and hated the trigger mainly because it was a heavy pull. I did what everyone said, dry fired it a bunch, I even got the laser target practice thing so that its at least entertaining. Mine got way better after 200ish cycles. The pull weight feels half as light but the sproinginess is still there.
They also have a stainless .223 Wylde complete upper with NiB bcg and ch for $220 I’ve had my eye on for about two months, but I’ll probably pick up the 10" slick side complete upper with bcg and ch in 9mm for $230 first.
And to think for polishing, I’m still using old-fashioned crocus cloth (1000 or 1500 grit, not sure which) and jeweler’s rouge, plus Flitz or Wenol-K. Guess I need to modernize. Those erasers look like a good solution on account of the nice grit choices. Thanks.
FYI, Flitz seems to work well for polishing blued surfaces. It also removes tarnish from brass.
100-200 rounds for a break in is just getting started during an afternoon session and gets’er done. Love the sniper green………that’s what my 100% dagger is.
