It don't take much to entertain me

Same looking buttons, maybe a little taller, but same functions.

Visited a Mill Museum in Georgia thought some of y’all could restore these.

Is that a Caterpillar 4 cylinder?

That’s what I thought but I don’t know, I should’ve got more pics of it my bad.

Those 2 bolted on covers on the side really make it look that way.

those coke machines are probably pretty $$ and can bring big money i think

I agree but Kevin has thrown a curve ball in that pic at least for me lol. We know it’s early with both filters upside down. Most fuel pumps are on the left/other side of the engine. What is that near the generator? A pump? Or a magneto? And is that a updraft carburetor bottom of the manifold or a fuel heater? I’m confused :confused:

@Coolwin1776 almost done with my little project.

I think it’s a Bendix magneto with the cover missing. Looks like you can just barely see one spark plug to the left of the intake manifold. I thing the fuel pump is switched to that side because it’s a power unit vice a tractor/crawler engine. All servicing can be done from one side of the engine.

Assembled this morning. Did not get the hammered look like on the cap. Antique pewter is the color. Glad it’s done but no end cap yet.

Turned out great :+1:

Thank you Kevin

Still looks good my man.

Thanks brother it has come a long way. Just my theory why it was locked up. When we pushed the outer jaw free my friend is like " why did that grease get hard?" I told him that ain’t grease l think it’s Permatex. It was sabotaged by a disgruntled employee that was either getting laid-off or mad at someone :thinking:
Set up hard over the weekend? Crap like this happened until Peterbilt installed cameras.

Got a set of Wilton cast copper jaws…

Free to me! Oklahoma Joe’s smoker

Made a grate with what l had

Cleaned up the grill grates

Used my DA sander to knock off rust blew it off and wipe it down with vegetable oil

About 80% paint remains.

Don’t know anything about that brand but it looks like a good one.
Nice score Kevin :clap:

Made of 10 ga steel welded and bolted legs. Oklahoma made and it is heavy. Heard of them but this my first. I have hickory and applewood for fuel and smoke.
Speaking of hickory. My neighbor’s behind me during the tornado warnings a few weeks ago.
This going to be a dangerous cut for next years burn.

@Jammo

Yeah, which way is it gonna take off to relieve all those twists.

Yes sir a widow maker if we ain’t careful. He has a Kubota w/loader, we got chains too. Definitely start at the top of the tree and work to the twist. Stump it and leave the rest alone for a while. Then maybe small cuts after?

That’s how my back feels sometimes :rofl:

I’m not sure how you would tackle that tangled mess.
Probably let it stay that way for a little while before having a go at it.
Maybe some relief cuts to “check” how much tension it has.
I’ve felled a single tree in my time so do not take my advice !!
Good luck with it brother :+1:

@Jammo relief cuts absolutely.
Got the vise mounted and copper jaws
