It don't take much to entertain me

yeah, my back feels like that right now :face_with_head_bandage:

Use them all the time - copper jaws are The Shizznit!

Yes sir! Grainger was cheaper than Wilton site… 3 1/2" kinda hard to find.
@TheAirHawk

One of these days, Ima trim the corners sticking-out around those feet.

Mounted on a diagonal plate welded out over the corner of the table gives a little bit more vertical-clearance for long pieces in the jaws.

Very nice set up! 8" jaws? Those jaws are crazy priced. I see the 404-8 stamp

Finally getting around to rebuilding that Weber Genesis Silver B I mentioned a little over a month ago. Instead of cheaping out and going bit by bit I decided to buy all new everything, so have a new propane tube, electric ignition, drip tray, stainless 3-burner tubes, and stainless cooking grates/warming rack/hanging tray coming.

All in all cost me a little short of 200 for all the parts with some Prime day discounts.

Should have it done in a week or two.

Don you are the one that inspired me with the smoker!
I can’t wait to see your grilled project when you are finished :fist_right::fist_left:

Question for you bud. Do you know of a good hi-temp black paint for the exterior of it? Not gonna paint the inside because fumes/etc, but I am gonna sand down the outside metals and put on a couple coats.

I used this on the belly of the smoker after sanding off the surface rust. It’s a good product brother

I’ve never gotten any spray-bomb hi-temp paint to last more than a year or two on any of them (before fading or flaking).

Hammertone paint would look pretty cool - my Pit Boss is Black and Dark Bronze Hammertone, but I’m fairly certain it’s catalysed bake-on.

Thanks for the recommendation, I’ll try it out. Something I can find locally or do I have to order it?

AirHawk - totally get it, but if I get two years out of a can job I don’t really consider that that bad. I don’t want to get any more involved than some sanding, taping off, and spraying.

I got it our local hardware store. My neighbor down the road his son damaged his expansion chamber on a vintage KX 250. After the repair painted it with VHT. Still looks good and that was about 8 yrs ago.
Fire it up and bake it on. For grills that may remain outside less long term results.

Kry-on (No Drips No Runs No Errors!) has a line of Hammertone, heck I think you can get it at Malwart.

Just a suggestion, of course.

(Hey - @19foxtrot used some on that Vise!)(might not have been Kry-on)

Our Autozone carries the VHT line of paints.

Ahahaha copy that brother but using it right now. Maybe this winter.

Finished up the Weber Genesis resto project this morning. Some of the 23 year old bolts were a (censored) to break free and I had to take a round file to a couple holes to get things to fit, but otherwise went fairly smoothly. Lid got hit with 40 grit then got 3 coats of that VHT paint, and so did the lower storage grill by the wheels and the piece that sits below the base and holds the catch tray.

All things considered I think she looks pretty good for 23 years old and from what I’ve read should outlast any new Weber. Total investment about four hours time for pressure washing, cleaning, disassembly, paint, and reassembly and 180 bucks in parts.

Heck yea brother looks GREAT!!!

Firing it up for the first time. Ignition works flawlessly and the burners look great. Very happy with how it turned out.
