Will the JAKL bolt carrier be compatible with AR15 auto sears and the Rare Breed FRT? One of the reasons that I still have not purchased a BRN180 upper is that I can’t use it with an FRT. Will the JAKL have the proper bolt geometry to work with an FRT?
If the AFT has their way it won’t matter…also, just for clarification, the RBT is not an auto seer. I don’t think you meant that, but just throwing it out there.
I don’t know the answer to that, but I have a call out. I will let you know once I get a response.
at about 1:05 it shows the profile of the carrier, its similar to an AK carrier where there’s no material behind the firing pin. It won’t work with a FA trigger group or FRT. For it to work it would need a buffer tube/extension for the material needed to match a FA profile BCG. The main selling point of the JAKL is not needing one.
Party pooper
Guess we will have to stick with using the ARV for this, hopefully that 10mm makes it into the pipeline ![]()
Will the JAKL take AK triggers or AR-15 triggers? What type of triggers won’t work in this gun?
It will use an AR trigger since it has an AR lower. It won’t work with anything that requires a full auto BCG like the FRT or the new WOT.
What about binary triggers?
Should be fine if it doesn’t require a FA BCG.
I talked with engineering. It will not work with an Auto Sear, but Binary Triggers should work fine it it.
I haven’t examined the profile of the Jakl BCG but seems like designing a new auto sear profile so somewhere on the Jakl BCG trips it could be an option.
That would be something I could get behind
Im a little late to this but is there a chance we could get a select fire bolt? I dont imagine it would be difficult to do.
I can confirm that the JAKL does work well with gen 3 Franklin Arms binary triggers. The fostech echo doesn’t seem to work with it. I haven’t tried any others.
That is a bummer about the autosear/FRT in the JAKL. The heavy mil-spec barrel profile is meant for high rates of fire. It is assame we can’t take advantage of that with the FRT style triggers. Is seems like FRT is finally moving toward victory over the ATF and I can’ t use one anyway. I was looking at the Atrius with select fire safety.
Hey if anyone at PSA is reading this, a slot and option for a trip bar in the upper (similar to the MCX) would be amazing, maybe something for the Jakl 2.
See your other post.
There’s a guys who designed a trip kit for the super safety and has said that it does work with some FRTs he has tested it with the Dairyland Defender and it worked well, but we cannot guarantee compatibility with all FRTs. It’s currently in pre-order status and I placed an order for one and plan on testing it with different FRTs as often as I can afford them.
There’s a trip for the Gen 2 BCGs by Asdesigns. Just google JakL slip trip.
