Do frt triggers work in jakls?

Im likely going to put a delta team tactical frt in my jakl 300 blk pistol. I may do one in my px9 4 inch gen 4 ar9. Does anyone know if it’ll be ok using these? I can put it in my regular ar if they dont work in the others .

Im not sure they do. I think super safeties need machineing of the bolt which voids the warranty.

i dont know if FRT triggers work in the jakl or not, as ive not tried it. however that being said, the jakl is built to use all ar15 fcg’s, so i dont see why it would not work without issue. thats my .02 worth… and since you have other ar’s you could just put it in if it doesnt, then i think its not a big chance to take, so go for it and let us know if it does and all the other info you find out.

FRT’s do NOT work with the Jakl BCG.

The lower rear part of a normal BCG, with the more forward-located M16 cut, is required to trip the small vertical rear bar of an FRT. A non-M16 BCG, sometimes called an AR-15 cut, will not work either. Because the Jakl’s BCG is only the forward part nearest to the bolt, there is nothing further rearward to engage with that rear trigger bar part of the FRT. Not only would it not work as an FRT, it won’t even work as a single shot because that rear bar is floating in space with nothing to trip it.

thanks for the clarification @BradE that makes a lot of sense.

kinda sad now though… it woulda been cool

I guess jakl is a no go for that trigger. Will the psa px9 work ok? I assume so.

It kind of makes me wonder though, how does a select-fire MCX or similar style rifle work? Anything with a short length bolt carrier, what is it using as it’s auto sear?

i think so as the back of the bcg is much like the f/a standard ones.

as for the mcx i have no idea… im positive its proprietary but it would be interesting to know

Usually pcc’s are funky with anything but a single stage trigger.

They use a trip bar, a little sheet of metal that is pinned into a slot where it can slide foreword and back to toggle the sear. A linkage of sorts. you may be able to modify the jakl upper to do that, but I think any machining voids warranty. But if they added the option to the Jakl 2 that would be awesome

They had one at The Gathering. However, unlike the $400 PSA AR, the jakl went down with repairs. The standard AR went thousands of rounds with just water on the gas tube and block.

Update, I put an frt in my px9. It wouldnt run till i upped the buffer weight to 7.5oz. Standard springco white spring. Runs like a charm, love it! I use rare breed 3 position not a delta tean tactical.

Just got my trip reset from AS designs. Dude it rips with a supersaftey or the saftey selektor from atrius. No tuning just watch your gas adjustment mine backed off one setting but has been fine since. On a 14.5 w/ huxwrx 7.62flow ti

glad to hear.. sounds like its amazing

That sounds gr8. May i ask which jakl you have? I was thinking bout an atrius dev in my 300blk 8.5" inch jakl pistol. I guess it works after all . Have heard of some of em breaking. Please let us know how it goes.

i have the 2nd gen jakl. the 2nd gen bolt doesnt have to be milled it has the cut outs to allow room for the trip set. ive only put like 200 rds through it. im gonna do more this weekend ill try and remember to update you.
