Perhaps I just missed it but I did not see a thread here about the new bullpup lower for the jakl!
Hadn’t seen one here, but it was covered in a fair amount of depth in the Shot Show thread and in this forum here.
Looks like only 5.56 support for now. People wished for a monolithic bullpup that could be adapted to various calibers and magazine sizes.
My only gripe is that I shoot Left-Handed so if I can swap out the case deflector which I think you can on the jakl then I may pick one up.
From what I saw the new Bullpup lower will fit any of the JAKL uppers including the 300BLK all NFA rules apply for the short barreled uppers.
I don’t think the case deflector can be changed. This is basically just a new lower for the existing JAKL upper. The JAKL upper I have you can not switch between right and left side ejection.
I am right handed, left eyed, so also shoot lefty. You can still shoot some weapons with right hand ejection if the ejection port is far enough forward and has a brass deflector. I would be VERY interested if the JAKL would still be able to be fired from the left shoulder without a face full of brass.
Gotcha, yes you can remove the brass deflector on the JAKL upper. Not sure where you’d source a different one that would eject the brass in a different direction that would fit the JAKL. I think you’d get a face full of brass with any right handed bullpup though. Ejection port is so far back.
I run a bp shotty without too many problems.
