Jakl Charging handle and sled issue

My Jakl upper build kit came yesterday. I was inspecting the upper and noticed the charging handle was dragging or rubbing something. I removed the bolt and carrier, and the charging handle doesn’t fit square into the sled. In fact, when you drop the charging handle in will lockup and not move. If you wiggle it back out just a little it will move freely but very rough, is this normally how the charging handle sits into the sled?

Im having same issue, poor machine TOLERANCE fit ,charging handle rear tab is not a exact machined fit, and sled slot is not a exact tolerance cut.

charging handle would not come apart from charging sled and will not fit at all in LH POSITION, machined slot has 1/64 of metal below slotted cut is misaligned ser # low 700 in black , awaiting reply from the weak point is in charging sled lower relief cut maybe just enough metal to break off and cause a jam ,

Awaiting palmetto reponse this is a manufacturing clearance error,

Same issue will ch fit in oposite LH position? Mine will not the machined gap under CH tab is not a good fitment at all

This unfired brand new in box item qc qa issue that needs a precision gusseted exact fit. It had burrs on it from factory. Needs revision.
Clearance tolerance upgrade, there were b u rrs around outside edge ,this part should be tumbled smooth and nickel boron coated

Customer service is not on the forums but they will make it right. Are yall using lube on it? They look dry.

Just took jackyl apart for lube inspections charging handle would not separate from charging sled, and will not fit in LH position at all new in box . Unfired, not happy with machining clearances on this part or lack of.

Understood, I already emailed them with photos I posted here. In the past, I have had good exchanges with CS on issues so I’m assuming that will make this right. I just wanted to get the community to weigh and see if this is normal.

Like I said mine was brand new and as a lefty, I was also going to switch my charging handle but I found it very difficult to get it to go into the slot as well.

Yes, I’m starting to agree, this part needs a revision. I also watch a YouTube vid from Bass Facts on his jakl review. At the end, his sled was beat up with bottom cracked off at around 1500 rounds but it still did work the handle would still retain but his comment was what would this part look like at another 500 to 1000 rounds.

There is not enough metal around sled base to support the shock loads of the bolt and recoil cycles

I can’t find this, do you have a link?

Billet sled revision rev
2 , for durability and integrity as lack of charging handle support will lead to internal catastropic part failure, within reciprocating assembly. Might just get caliper and measure these tolerance gaps needs some cad work to reinforce these areas

Sorry it’s Brass Fact. 18:59 where show cracked sled.

Maybe charging handle relief slot should be laser cut for tigher tolerances

Thanks :slightly_smiling_face:

Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved?

I don’t know. So PSA asked me to send my kit back to them, for exchange. However, it’s been two week since they received it. I haven’t heard a word back from them I just send them another email asking for the status. Not sure why it’s take so long unless they are waiting on new parts or an updated sled if that is the case.
