I need input on how to keep track of which mags go to what. How do you keep it straight?
After many years as a firearm enthusiast, I have many weapons that take similar looking, but different, mags. Pistol mags are the most likely culprits. I also have mags that fit multiple different weapons such as the PSA AK-V and AR-V.
I thought of just putting labels on the mags. I am sure they would come off eventually.
I do not want to engrave them. So what do I do?
Any input is greatly appreciated. I would like to come up with a system that works the first time. (That will be new.)
I got oil-based Sharpie markers (white) from amazon and just write what I need on the base. Typically the name of the gun (yes, I name my guns) and a unique number so that if I have a problem at the range that could be mag related I can note that it was Mag 1 or Mag 3.
You could use different color paint pens to put marks on upper portion of the mags so they wouldn’t be seen when loaded.
I do this with my AR10 mags. I hunt coyotes on a regular basis with two other guys who also shoot AR10s. Theirs are chamber for 6.5creed. Mine is 243. This allows a quick id so mags don’t get mixed up.
this was inherited and does not get shot much. Thankfully some of my other handguns are magazine/caliber specific. 1911/.45acp, do not fit S&W Shield in 9mm or vice versa, as an example
