My dad unbeknowst to me had to sell his winchester 30-30 to pay some bills. When he retired to Arizona, I gifted him my Marlin 30-30.

Only sipulation was the marlin be retured after he passes. I have no recent pictures

Loved shooting it!

If you enjoy shooting pistol caliber lever action rifles (or even rimfire lever action rifles), you should check out a cowboy action shooting match. We have three clubs in Upstate SC, two in the Midlands and two serving the coastal areas of South Carolina.

My home club is Greenville www.greenvillegunfighters.com

I regularly shoot the Belton monthly matches, and they are hosting the SC State Match on April 6-8, 2023. www.beltonbushwhackers.com

Matches are open to the public so come check it out. Bring eyes and ears.

We use real ammunition (lead bullets are required) on steel targets.

Welcome to the forums @Corpus we’re glad to have you.

@useful.easy.address a lever action fires much like any other semi auto. The fun is in the working of the action really. of course my main issue with them is they’re not practical for being a battle gun, because you have to take your eye off target with each cocking of the handle usually. but in a hunting environment, or a target shooting environment they are a blast to shoot. it always made me wonder how people think up these things and get them to work like they did back in the late 1800’s… i recommend getting at least one just for the fun of it. and you can get them in just about any caliber you want too, which makes the pretty versatile.

LOL, Winchester Model 94 when I was 12 or 13? Doe hit while she was running, stock got caught in my overalls. I got her in the front leg, destroyed it and she dropped. Long story short I got 9 shots in around 2 or 3 minutes while I was running., she was dragging herself to a set of brambles that was nasty. I hit her 7 times though. I think we got like maybe 6 #s of meat My Step-Uncle asked how many I got. Me? Ummm, That one.

I would definitely like one chambered in .357, and .22lr is always fun.

That is a nice looking rifle. I’d be battling internally between “safe” and “custom wall hanging”.
