Marlin Guide Gun, 45-70 with factory ported barrel.
Couldn’t help meself. R92 Rossi, .38/.357. No frills, really nice Cherry color, price was agreeable at six Franklins, OTD.
Used, but barrel was clean and bright and shiny, with crisp lands. Cycles smoothly, action’s well lubed, with barely any shine-marks on the wear-surfaces. 8.5-9/10.
50 yards, Buckhorn sights, I could not see the red at all - the inner ring was mostly covered by the front post. The two flyers on top; I shifted the gun on the bag and changed my grip a little, altering sight picture and POI.
looks beautiful. i need a lever in 357, i just know i do…
heres my only lever for now. a 30/30 by marlin.
Yes you do
@GamecockOperator
i also think i want one in 44 mag too!
The Wife took my Marlin 94 in .44 - that’s why I had to get this 92 in .357…
I hope she doesn’t want this one too! It’s quite pleasant to shoot in .38, slightly sharper recoil impulse in .357 - but not really any more kick - which is why I’m a little worried…
So, the sights really leave a bit to be desired. Anyone use the Marbles Tang, or bolt mount peeps from Steve’s?
Thoughts on either of those?
Other suggestions?
You can’t go wrong with that choice and building lifelong memories ![]()
thats a nice .22 how much if you dont mind me asking did the classic henry lever 22 run?
Around $380.00 at Sportsmans warehouse.
Nice representation of a Glenfield/Marlin 30-30 pre warning barrel. Blond Birch furniture. Glenfield 30 A
The wife took her out today for the first time and it ran as you would expect a Henry to run.
Also the wife’s first time ever shooting a lever and you would have thought she was the Rifleman ![]()
This one set in the safe untouched for 11 years ![]()
what caliber is that one? .22? I’d like to have a .22 but i’d also love a .357 and a .44mag…
lately though however i’ve been kicking around the idea of how much i’d like a kinda tacticalized Lever action with a black poly stock and black aluminum handguards running mlok and stainless barrel etc…
@SuperPredator has one somewhat similar that made me think of wanting to do this.
This one is 22 @GamecockOperator
Nice!! good looking i kinda thought so as it looked kinda “light” for lack of a better way of describing it.
Oh wow.. that is cool looking.. sure looks like its as old as its model number suggests. i’ve also never hot a 25/35 or seen one myself. too cool though.. thank you for sharing it with us.
