Wheel Gun Wednesday

What kind of Resolvers are ya rockin ? Here is my Rossi .357

That looks like a good bear gun, and you could bop someone on the head knock them out pretty easily (do not store on a high shelf)! I’m not a big revolver person but have been considering a “Western”-style with interchangeable .22LR and 22 Mag wheels. Not really sure why, except for the coolness factor.

I also have a pair of these. Both are 22lr, gray one is the wife’s.

S&W Model 29-10, 44 mag. Had it new since 2007 and have yet to shoot it!

S&W Model 642, 38 special occasional summer carry.

She mainly just hangs out in the safe. I take her out for a little fresh air on occasion.

Good ole S&W .44 Mag.

I got Ruger Wrangler also in gray. Its a fun gun to shoot and I like more every time i take it out. Planning on getting another single action in either 45lc or 357. Have my eye on the “Man with no name” clone by Cimarron. Beautiful…

I love your rossi … i dont know wht but i just love rossi’s and have a few of them. When i get back to a pc ill post some of them.

“…would blow your head clean off…”

My brother gave me a very similar Rossi. He didn’t appreciate it, and I saw what a nice revolver it was for an “off” brand. It’s very well-made.

Heres my rossi’s…

Rossi M68 38 special

Rossi 712 357 Magnum w/built in compensator in Stainless

and finally my Rossi R44102 44 Magnum Blued

And i had this Rossi 462 357 in stainless, but i traded it. I wish i had it still and am always on the look out for another. So if anyone knows of one, or has one they want to trade or sell, let me know please.

theyre not really a off brand, as they’re made by Taurus now believe it or not. the older ones, like my stainless and the 38 special, are when they were an independent company by Amadeo Rossi. Usually anything that they have that is stamped Interarms, Alexandrea VA, is the independent company Rossi, everything else is stamped Taurus, brazil, as the importer. FOr a while there, taurus and Rossi both had the same guns, just different manufacturer stampings. Either way, I love them, and have no logic as to why other than as a kid my grandad had bought a rossi .22 pump rifle that was an Interarms, and I fell in love with it. I have that rifle now myself, in my own collection and to this day i still love shooting it.

I’m aware they’re not “off” brand certainly not in Brazil, and knew they were owned by Taurus or co-owned by some third conglomerate. I put “off” (brand) in quotes because my brother and many others consider them to be. I don’t. I’m a former police armorer, and I can tell a quality revolver when I handle one. Mine is. It’s also an older pistol, like yours.

Good choice and yes they are very COOL

A retired armorer. Man i bet youve seen some wild things.

Yeah i follow you about whT the others think.

Probably the oddest thing I saw was an officer whose model 66 S&W was bound up and completely disabled after attempting qualification. I took the side plate off and found that something looking like one grain of unburned powder had gotten between the side plate and the hammer block in its groove in the side plate. I removed that, cleaned the action and problem solved.

Probably the funniest thing I’ve seen was a fellow student at Gunsite, sort of the class F-up, managed to half chamber a .45 acp… BACKWARDS.

Wow backwards?

Did you inspect or handle guns that were taken off the street? They usually see some funny abominations.

Yes, backwards. No one, especially he, knew how it happened.

I did get the firearms placed in evidence and property when I was in charge of that unit. Contrary to what the Usurper Bidet would have you believe, most were single barrel shotguns and single shot .22 rifles.

We occasionally got something interesting, but not often. In Florida, where I live, all confiscated firearms must be turned over to the county sheriff for disposal. We could, if we wished, retain something for department use, but the firearm could not be taken by an individual except by issuance like any department owned firearm, and had to be turned in when leaving the department or no longer needing the firearm.

It wasn’t “FREE GUNS!” like some people might think, at least not in my department. I was in charge of property and evidence for 5 years, and we never lost one item that we had charge of. I’m kind of proud of that.

i dont blame you for being proud of that. especially dealing with things like firearms that like to grow legs usually.

thats so weird backwards. it’s good you got them placed in evidence though. that is for sure.

I got a few. All Rugers. First was the GP-100, had it Magnaported, replaced some springs and new sights, grip inserts. Next is the 5-1/2" Super Blackhawk in .44mag, buffalo horn grips added. Next is the Old Army Target, buffalo horn grips added same time as the Blackhawk. Last but not least, LCRx 3" in .357mag, tritium front sight added.
