Sears and Roebuck wish book

Just for fun, post what you want for :wrapped_gift: :christmas_tree:

I’ll start, - don’t really need nothing, but I can still wish.

1 -

Y’all done got me liking 1911 style more and more. Have a .45 and a .22. I like Kimber, and this smaller size gun is concealable, made of metal (I’m over polymer, but like and trust the stuff I have) and looks fun to shoot!

2 -

S&W 5906/6906 - either one or both😁

3 - JAMMO, Greg 1911 & 19 Foxtrot to come back!!!-

It damn sure ain’t the same around here with out y’all…

Not gonna beg, but it shore would be nice, if 'n y’all could let things go. Stuff happens, then we get over it…

Very Nice. I remember wishing on the Sears book!

Here is mine:

  1. SW 10mm Revolver Smith and Wesson Model 610 10mm 6.5" Revolver 12462 | Palmetto State Armory

  2. PSA AR-V 16" 9mm 1/10 Lightweight M-Lok MOE EPT Rifle | Palmetto State Armory

Nice, don’t the rimless cartridges need half moon clips in revolvers?

Yes they do, I have a 38/357/9mm Taurus revolver the 9mm are rimless so need the clip to be ejected normally, not absolutely needed but easier to eject. I don’t care so I generally get tired of the clips and just pull the expended cases out with fingers. The Clips make it far easier. But if I am shooting my revolver with 6.5inch I am in no hurry anyway. Big Tracker model.

The Taurus has 2 cylinders to get the headspace correct. But same size otherwise on barrel.

I can still smell that HUGE Sears Mega Christmas Edition Catalog… I looked forward to it every Thanksgiving in the mail as a kid. I would get my little hands on that sucker, and circle and highlight with red and green pen ink EVERYTHING I wanted from Santa that coming Christmas hahah. What a fun little memory and time it was. I can remember Mom and Dad saying how Santa just takes some inspiration from the Big Christmas Catalog, that the Elves don’t make things exactly as they are in the book. But i couldn’t be swayed and flipped through that book and circled a million toys and drums and guitars and dare I even admit it, even some clothes!

Yep! We use to use it for entertainment! It was like the 1970s 1980s internet browsing for us. I am sure as you go further back in time it was even more cool.

Hardwood stock gets my vote. :+1: I actually been to Czech Republic and they know how to make high quality and durable stuff. They got style too.

The Sears Wish book and Montgomery Ward catalog. The 3 of us wore it out.

I haven’t been good. Bet I get skunked again.

I remember service merchandise here is a catalog page from 1976.

I want more range time and cheaper ammo for Christmas.

I have several (I think 4) Micro 9s and they are awesome. My favorite is the Raptor, not because it shoots better than the others, because it’s so cool looking. I use the CYA holster for them and it’s easily concealable and light. They also make a magazine pouch that I carry since the pistol is 7+1.

Those are gorgeous, buddy bought a .17 HRM and it has the perfect grain, CZ does great job on wood selection.

Nuthin but hardwood stocks! Take your pick, blued or parkerized barrels. Wish plastic would go outta style. I’m over it…

The Rifleman Gun GIF by GritTV

Likely where the one underlined i had as a kid came from.

Good grief, I have 3 of the guns on that ad and my son has one. Remington 700 30.06 was the first deer rifle I got as a kid in, I think, 1975 or 76. I have the 552A and 870 too and they were both bought in the 80s. And my father-in-law gifted a Winchester 30-30 to my son when he was something like 10. My father-in-law had gotten it when he was a kid and he’s 88 now. Not pictured there but interesting is the Winchester “bicycle gun” that my father-in-law also gave my son. It’s a pump .22 short with a hex barrel that you could take apart and put in the basket of a bicycle to take with you. They were also called “carnival guns” because they were used at the shooting galleries of the traveling carnivals that were popular back then. I had it completely restored by a guy that has since passed. He was one of those guys that lived for that kind of stuff. He was a little shop a few blocks from my office 30 years ago. Cool stuff.

For as many choices that PSA offer that I would absolutely love to have, the one system that keeps haunting my dreams is the SOLWG. MK 1 (FDE).

I am never going to have one because it is completely out of my reach, but one can dream.

What a fun post!

P.S. You’ll shoot your eye out!
