Looking for help with a PSA Dagger and Grace M1 optic

Good day to you all! I found a deal on a PSA Dagger that I was not going to turn down and the best part was it had the RMR foot for a optic.

When I received the optic it had one major flaw and that was to mount it on my Dagger I had to lose the rear sight. I’m not good with that a battery powered optic will never replace iron sights for myself that is.

I have contacted Grace about the situation and get into to that more below. They told me they don’t sell or make any other optics plates but the universal one and they could not even recommend one that would work.

I’d like to know if anyone has any experience with these optics on the Dagger? What optic plate that I do not have to sacrifice my rear sight will work?

The worse part was the Grace customer service. As I said I contacted them by email asking about the optic plates. The response I received from them was a very simple we don’t make or sell any other optics plates.

I responded by thanking them and telling them I was sorry to hear about that they did not sell or make optic plates as there optic was going to have to be disqualified for testing by my department. How we had been looking forward to testing it as it was my boss who suggested Grace M1 to test.

Response I received back that upset me: If your looking for your police department I’m sure we can arrange for “Special parts” to be made so that it would fit your weapon and you would be able to use the rear sight.

So when I was Joe nobody it was your SOL they could not even offer a company to go and talk to or any suggestions at all to help me with the optic they manufactured. Maybe I’m wrong but you would believe that a company that builds and sells optics would know other then there universal mount what other ones work.

Poor customer service by Grace did not care until they believed I was a PD and they could make more money off me!

Can you post some pictures? I have never heard of Grace optics.

If you choose a compatible RMR pattern optic off this list, you should be able to keep your irons intact. That Grace optic uses the unique Sig Romeo1 pattern so that’s why you’re having trouble. It’s similar to the Delta Point Pro pattern but not exactly the same so just save yourself the headache and get a compatible RMR sight?

Just my 2 cents, return the Grace and get a Holosun.

Going to be my sweetheart and buy it for me?:kissing_heart:

I’m planning on getting one Why I have the Grace is that I do have a friend that I was in law enforcement with and he asked me to give one he sent me for free a test.

His department is looking at them for there officers and they are looking for an alternative to another pistol sight I believe the ones your talking about. He was telling me that the department is going to all move over to weapons that had a rear sight and optic. Since they are mandating that the officers buy there own optics.

They are wanting to find optics in different price ranges as some officers cried about having to spend money on the thing that might save there life one day.

He asked me with a free optic if I could test one out and tell him what I thought about the optic if it’s a toy like people have said or a optic that would work? I’m interested to see how well it will stand up to use and abuse.

Really think my set up right now is a $230 for the weapon optic is $150 or so from what I have looked at. So it’s a $375 tank with a green dot 3 MOA shake and wake sight. Not going to keep it the Dagger that way I’m looking at buying a Holosun 507 for it with my next VA Disability check I get.

I kind of agree. You can find holosuns on sale and they have way more LEO/duty hours. After looking at the grace, no top bar to protect the glass is IMO a problem.

I agree the glass is not the best in the world but it’s also not the worst I have seen. The flare on it is just about the same as the two Sig Romeo red dots I have for my rifle that are the same as the Eotec 512 I use to have.

Again for a $375 set up weapon and optic it will be interesting to see how it will hold up. Weapon I sure will be fine not sure about the optic but never know. I do have to admit I like that it’s topless! Will that effect reliability? Don’t know the glass in it seems very thick and it’s curved.

I just want to mount it without losing my rear sight I don’t want to lose my rear sight to anyone optic to be frank! I already fought in Ramadi Iraq 04 with a Beretta 92 that had half the sights filed off.

Best was Iraq invasion my rear pin on my M16A2 was a zip tie! And no sorry I’m not joking about this and have used it several times on people who cry about not working with what they have.

Anyone have any advice on what plates will work that I would not have to remove the rear sight?

I have been told that it is the same fooprint as the Romeo1.

Adding a plate will probably render the rear site too low and therefore useless. Im not aware of a plate that does that conversion.

I have seen a few guys with suppressor sights that have made it work very well.

Update so just took and put the universe plate on just so I could use the pistol on the range tomorrow and test it out like I said I would for my friend .

Mount it on turn it on and that bright green light is nice

Problem the nice green dot will not move from the upper left hand side of the gas so now I’m talking to who they bought them from.

Anyone please suggest to me a good sight want shake and wake and I do like the green but I’m not dead set on it. I want to see suggest and optic for the Dagger shake and wake under $200 and $250.

My suggestion is going to come from what you guys suggest and I try out. Prices if you know the next level sight and it’s $300 tell me! I told law enforcement back In 2009 that we needed to move to Red dot on pistols and I was told how absurd and stupid that was.

It is milled aluminum you can see the milling marks from the CNC. The glass as you can see on the photo is thick looking to me my first red dot on a pistol so I don’t know.

After mounting it on the weapon it did look nice and fit in the few holsters that I had for it. The shake and wake worked great it I assume turned off but more importantly it was on anytime I drew the weapon. I wore the weapon around the house as I was doing chores that need to be done on 10 acre of land.

Glass held up had to get smacked a few times but can’t tell you if it held zero or not can tell you it did not knock it from the left upper corner. Think this is a toy love the concept and like to see it work as it looks awesome on the weapon. But if it can’t move the radical right out of the box does not set will with me but I will see what the company will do. I want to just do refund but we will see.

By the time you buy a plate, buy suppressor height sites, and pay for that optic, you could have bought a holosun and probably saved money in the long run.

Places like PSA, Primary Arms, Simmons Sporting Goods (email them and they will give you a special price and link to what you want) often have Holosuns for under or at $200 that fit the RMR dagger.

I look at it like this I much rather have iron sights then optics! I much rather have A tier 2 optic with a tier 2 iron sights then to just have a tier 1 optic that will fail.

To me it does not matter what tier optic I buy it will not permanently replace my iron sights.

Blame all of you for this Holosun HE507C-GR-X2 Pistol Green Dot Sight - ACSS® Vulcan™ Reticle

I bought one only thing is I paid $230 because it was an open box return. Did I do well?

Edited to add what’s a good footprint to use for the Dagger and this optic? Preferably one that allows me to use my iron sights.

Use the mounting screws that came with your Dagger not the ones supplied by Holosun. That one should mount straight up with no plate needed if you got the RMR cut Dagger. You have suppressor height sights so your irons will be usable.
