What brand is your magazine of choice to run through your Dagger? Is there one that stands out above the others that you prefer to use? If so, which one and what’s your experience?
Magpul PMAGs are my favorite so far and they are hard to beat for the price.

Pros:
- Sturdy construction
- Hi-vis follower
- Full mag indicator
- Price
Cons:
- If mag isn’t full you can’t see how many rounds are loaded like a std Glock mag
Insert “Schrodinger’s Magazine” joke here….
OEM glock mags. Nobody ever just stops with ONE glock mag compatible gun… And despite the fact that pmags seem to work fine in the Dagger’s, they don’t always play nice in everything else. OEM glock mags always run. The cost difference isn’t enough to justify having mags that might not work well with everything. I can always find glock mags for twenty bucks
I saw a video where some guy made a template off of an OEM Glock mag and then drilled the back of a PMAG to match. I’ve always wondered if doing that would significantly weaken the mag…
Yeah, at the low price of the PMAGS it’s worth it to pick up a dozen or so at a time. Having 15-20 pistol mags loaded before range day is sooooo much better than thumb pumping instead of pew-pewing.
I’ve been really happy with the ETS Magazine.
It took me a little while to stop thinking they were delicate because they are clear (they aren’t glass you know) But they show up on sale down around the $10 mark at midway and I have had great luck with them… also never have to guess how many rounds
OEM Glock mags only. I bought 4 pmags when they first came out and I can count on two of them to cause malfunctions so they are range mags only.
i second ETS mags.
Will the Glock Gen 5 mags work in the Dagger?
Yes. I actually really like the gen 5 mag base vs the gen 3/4. The gen 5 comes much closer to the front of the grip

Greatly appreciate the response! I bought two at a great price and suddenly thought, I better make sure they will work! ![]()
I have been running both, the standard Glock mag is easier to load, and having a discount at the local Dunham’s I have been staying with Factory Glock…
The new ones have been problem free for me
OEM Glock but I also use PMAGS at the range. OEM seem smoother to load and unload so I assume that’s a positive when shooting. I also tend to buy G17 mags instead of G15 mags.
I prefer mags with metal feed lips for long-term reliability.
I think the PMag mags don’t have that.
OEM Glock mags do.
My brother has had his Dagger for a few months. He bought P80 mags from Polymer80. They appear to be identical to OEM. Metal feed lips. Same holes on the back to let you see how many rounds are in it.
But, the P80 mags are dang near just as expensive as OEM Glock mags. Currently, $23 for a 15-round mag. I just bought Gen 5 OEM mags for my Dagger and they were only $25.
i prefer to run oem glock mags, or ETS mags… im not a big fan of the magpul mags for glocks.
if ihad my choice though, id run factory glock all the time.
OEM Glock mags. Pmags function fine in mine, but still like the strength of Glock OEM ones better. The KCI knock-offs of the Glock mags come with steel liners, witness holes, etc. but aren’t reliable in my Dagger and actually are the only ones that still drop when shooting even after PSA replaced my barrel.
I tend to use glock magazines for carry and pmags for range time. I like having a good supply of both on hand.
Is the base shaped or angled diff or the mag just shorter?
OEMs only. I stocked way up on G19 mags during the times in past decade when they were cheap. They can be found very reasonably priced today.
