Other then the CPR mask I carry a kit much like this in my redi mix truck every day. When you see guys walking on wall forms every week, it’s just a matter of time before someone falls on rebar

I left out gloves, normally have 3 pair in my kit now, Personal IFAK.
I put 25 pair in the church active shooter response bag. (Post # 20 above)
CPR mask due to my county being around 84% for STD’s & high transmission diseases.
As an EMT, I carried 8-10 pair per call. Had a bunch of messy bodily fluid calls.
OMG is that normal throughout the country?

I have not cheched actual numbers. I would not be suprised if 50-75% was average across CONUS.

A guy I knew was impaled on rebar as a teenager, but the rebar was not part of a building. It was part of the body of a swamp buggy.
I’ve only ever been lucky enough to get knocked off scaffold and land on sand. 
I EDC a standard Georgia stop the bleed kit in my truck, haven’t had to use it yet, hopefully never will. I call it my ouch pouch, even have a patch on it.
In it, I have a CAT tourniquet, an emergency trauma dressing, compressed gauze, 2 (added 5 more)pairs of gloves, an emergency blanket, a gauze pad, trauma shears, a marker and an instruction card.
In my truck I carry 2 additional TQ’s.
All good stuff here.
When the SHTF it’s good to have quick reference for treatment. I always have one similar.

I have not. When I was with USCCA, they only had classes about 3 hours from me.
I would be very surprised if it was not a decent course to take.
The description states:
Serious arterial bleeding can end a victim’s life in minutes.
In this class, you will learn:
- How to control severe arterial bleeding
- Use commercial tourniquets or improvised methods
- Apply compression bandages
- Pack wounds
- Treat chest injuries
It’s a 75 min class so it’s not a huge time commitment. I went ahead and signed up for it. Can’t hurt to go and see.
Sounds like it would be worth your time.
Hopefully you will never need to use any of it but great knowledge to have just in case.
I haven’t taken it but would in a heart beat. Sounds like a good course to have.
Even after decades of FD/EMS i still carry an EMS field guide. Memory is NOT what it used to be.

The improvised tourniquet is bothersome. Under the TCCC (Tactical Combat Casualty Care) review board they only looked at manufatured Tourniquets for a reason. The CAT, SOF-T and I think 5 others were approved by them.
Sign up with North American Rescue for their email list. they do sales, and you get an email for them… They manufacture the CAT (Combat Application Tourniquet). Not the only one to look at but the least expensive.
There are way too many counterfit Tourniquets avalible on ebay and Amazon. Buying stright from the manufacturer guarantees you are getting what you pay for. MSRP $31.99. On sale they are in the $23-25 range.
They also have a ton of different kits from vehicle/door panel models to belt or pack mounted.
If I have a gun on, I have a tourniquet on my person. In reality it is wise to carry 2 as one may not stop the bleeding.
