So, the gun has been repaired and is on its way back home. Ironically my ejector was bent and out of spec lol. Here is Palmettos official response.
The out of spec ejector was swapped out for one within spec, the damaged striker was also replaced. The Dagger was then reassembled and test fired without issue.
Let’s see how this runs. Because this will determine if I order the green lower.
PSA takes good care of customers. Things happen and of course it is frustrating, but PSA makes things right. Can’t wait to get my hands on my first RMR Dagger w/Holosun 507CX2 combo. G19 guy to this point, even with GSSA coupons, the Dagger is a great deal.
Having a similar thing happening with mine, kinda wondering if I can just polish It out n call it a day. It’s also carving off chipps of finish, and metal off the slide.
Apologies for tagging onto this thread. I haven’t figured out how to open a new topic yet.
I’m struggling to get a new SW4 slide on my new Dagger frame. First, the trigger bar collides with the rear slide plate. Redirecting the slide, I can pull it past the trigger bar until the plate collides with the tip of the ejector. Once I get it past the ejector, the plate collides and hangs on what I’ll call the ejector mount/tower. From here, I have found that the slide can slip over the rear slide guides.
I tried the SW4 slide on my Glock frame and although it passed the trigger bar cleanly, it did hang up on the ejector mount/tower. No occurrences of slide slipping over the rear slide guides.
I tried a Glock slide on the new Dagger frame and had the same issue with hanging on the trigger bar and ejector mount, but no issues with the ejector or rear slide guides.
Ok, so i went and got my dagger down to see what mine does when i dismantle it. i have checked it, and in photo 1 my slide slides over the metal bar if it is higher up than squeezed against the frame, then in photo two, same thing, just let it slide over that… photo3 before it gets to those two slide rail hold down rails, i have to push down on the slide so that it will catch under those and actually hook the slide to the frame. once i do that, i can then rack the slide all the way back without issue and the weapon functions without issue. im sure you could do this as well, and it would work without issue. i think its just how the dagger is.
Your correct nothing is wrong or bent that’s just the way it is. Just close your eyes and you can feel the slide going on. You kinda have to push the slide ever so slightly to one side. At least that worked for me.
As the others have said, also I’ve mentioned this before somewhere else on here and it only happens with 1 of my 3 slides. But it hangs up in the area you showed here/below. I have to ever so slightly push it to the side as Jammo mentioned above.
I’m reluctant to operate it without being able to assemble it confidently. To mount the slide assembly, I have to make 4 distinct changes in alignment. This is really disconcerting and my confidence that it will function without failure is doubtful and concerning.
I can take down and assemble several of my guns with my eyes closed. It’s a significant confidence hurdle when the slide ends up slipping over the rear guides 1/3 of the time with my eyes open.
The slide slipped completely off the front left slide guide immediately prior to engaging the read slide guides. Hoping this is an anomaly and easily resolved through customer service.
Stop trying to put it on so fast. Pay attention to what you are doing. If you are trying to assemble this with your eyes closed (like you previously mentioned) then i recommend you dont.
Yes. Because i would slow down and assemble the gun correctly. You are going too fast in that video and not getting everything aligned before you are trying. Honestly, im not sure what the point of you wanting to be able to assemble it with your eyes closed is. Not trying to be rude, but not understanding either.
Also, one more point…of the tens of thousands of daggers sold (all slides) and all the users here and on other social media sites with daggers…you are literally the only one i have seen this issue with. Take that for what its worth.
Both of my Daggers function as designed and I do trust them enough to carry. Also, I don’t have any trouble installing the slide on either of them… there is a kind of trick to it where you wiggle it a little as you get near the end of the frame.
