I picked up my 5.56x45 Krink yesterday and though I haven’t taken it out for a test run yet I’m really impressed with the looks. I already have spare rock and lock magazines and a Midwest Industres optic mount on order. I will say the brace folding mechanism has me a bit baffled. The stock adapter folds about 75% before the brace hits the fold button. Then the brace folds all the way and locks in position. After mulling it over for a while over a PBR the only explanation I can come up with is the adapter is designed to be used on a rifle as well as a pistol and it would allow the stock to be folded.
Looks fantastic.
Dont push the button. Pull up on the brace and it too will fold. Essentially you have two folding mechanisms. The button is so you can remove the pic rail and still be able to fold it.
Thanks. I did figure that out but just wondered about it having 2 hinges.
Please let us know (or anybody else who already knows) if it clears your optic mount folded.
I was wondering about that as well. I ordered the mount from Brownells last evening so I probably won’t have it in hand until early next week and then I’ll let you know.
A standard folding stock will clear a frame optic mount. On my 104 i have a mount and the standard stock. The stock has an indention in it. I dont know that it will clear with an aftermarket optic mount.
Left side pic:
That one def won’t clear an aftermarket mount.
I have doubts that the brace will clear the MI mount as it already touches the side rail when locked in the folded position. We’ll find out.
Do you know if the dust cover is a standard AK dust cover? If/when I get one I don’t have a problem going with a TWS dust cover.
edit to add: I looked TWS has one for a krink. They’re likely different.
That i dont know. It is ribbed but not sure if it is hinged with that rear sight or not.
I got my MI optic mount today and it’s a no go on the Krink. The rear sight is in the way so I guess if I want to mount an optic I’ll have to go the dust cover route. I have a PSA GF3 AK that the mount fits perfectly so thats going to be it’s new home.
Highly recommend Texas Weapon Systems.
Yeah I have already checked them out. Looks like a blem krinkov dust cover is $150 which is reasonably so I may go that route. Thanks for the advice.
I’d call and ask them specifically about the PSA Krink before purchase since theirs is so new.
LOL. Great idea but too late. It’s already on order. I guess I’ll find out in real time.
I’ll shoot them a question with the order # and if it won’t work I’ll ask them to cancel the order.
This was their response.
We have not been able to confirm that compatibility. We suspect that it will be compatible, but have not held a PSA Krinkov to confirm.
I guess you can let us all know!
She offered to cancel the order and I told her to do that and I would reorder when compatibility was confirmed. I’m kinda hoarding my gun money until the Canik TTI Combat comes down to somewhere near MSRP.
