New Rock - Posting just because

I already had a Ruger 5.7, which is a blast to shoot, but I really wanted to play with a suppressor and I happened to have a spare red dot so… I decided why not. So many excellent reviews online. Going to the range tomorrow.

Rock is great, looks fun. I used the Rock to test my 5.7 reloads last weekend was fun to get it out again.

Nice looking rig. Just something to think about, one day at the range where I teach Texas LTC Classes we had a student shooting a 5.7 at the 3 yard line and I was seeing small hole and then keyholes in his target. I quickly figured out the FMJ bullets were going through 18 inches of highly compressed rubber, hitting the 1 inch steel backing plate and bouncing back toward the line. Lucky for us no one was hit but we found some back passed the 7 yard line. We no longer allow student to qual with the 5.7

Yeah they are fast, my loads run about 1860-1900fps but 18 inches of condensed rubber? Crazy. Maybe he had the old SS190 ammo.

Damn - that’s crazy!

I’m a dang Bullet Magnet. Every single shooting event - even if I’m not competing - I get pelted with spall and ricochets. Doesn’t matter where I sit or stand. At least half the time, I’m being nailed by lead from the next Bay - over the top of the Berm…
