Picked up an old piece of furniture from my dad so I threw handguns in it (this isn’t their permanent home).
Dat 1911…order some cut to fit foam off Amazon as well as rig up some servos to a remote…automatic drawer opener.
Needs a tommy gun! 
Ha! That would be a pretty cool idea. The 1911 is a safe queen though unfortunately. Sits in the service holster for the most part.
Recycle that PSA foam from the rifle boxes !

Bad idea to keep a handgun in a holster. Acids in the leather promote rust and degrade the finish.
It’s a 1939 -1911 that’s been in a holster duct taped under the sink for the last 30 years… lol
