It’s an 8-position knob. Anyone can share a photo of what it would look like?

Position 1 would be all the way open gas. 8 is all the way closed gas.

yeah i’d not use position 1, as you’d be turning it into a bolt action for the most part id guess.
id probably use it at 3rd position. i know when i got my jakl and i took it out the first day, all i did was lube the carrier, and fire it, and it ran like a scalded dog. no issues… and i have a 10.5 5.56 jakl.
Got my Jakl back today from repair and it seems to be fixed. They noted gas block problem and upper receiver parts were replaced. Didn’t say specifically which parts.
Lancers and Magpul mags feed and function reliable–so far.
I have the gas block wide open and it’s ejecting right at 3:00 with X-TAC 62gr LAP.
the jakl adjustments are pretty much on y ou to fine tune… if they’re ejecting right at 3 then you’re good unless you put a suppressor on it and then you’ll need to fiddle with it agian… basically fire a round each time until the gun is not only running and ejecting at 3 again, but also that its running in semi auto and not like a bolt action. lol
