No pictures or instructions on how to adjustJakl rifle 8 position gas block

awesome. I use the identity bands myself

Use a standard, USGI magazine and normal sub/ super .300 BLK of regular quality like S&B.

Start with the regulator screwed all the way “in” / restricted, and follow a modified FAL gas setting procedure for the ammunition and the configuration you are using:

Load one round and fire, successively, opening (“unscrewing”) the regulator until you get lockback on an empty mag… then give it one additional position open for operating margin.

Follow these instructions, and you will run smooth, clean, and correct for all of your days with JAKL!

cool and thanks for the information about the gas block, but i didnt have any issues with mine. i knew how to adjust it and didnt even need to when i took mine out to the range. thanks though. im sure someone else here would / will need that information

Hello All, I also am having cycling issues, 13.7 pin and weld in 5.56. I have only taken it to the range once and ran 55gr 223 American Eagle by Federal. it would only cycle and lock back on the largest port setting. I removed the gas valve to inspect for port alignment, obstructions etc. ports seemed to be aligned correctly but the barrel port is considerably smaller than the port in the gas block. could anyone else confirm that this is normal on the platform or ??

Do you have the “s” or the regular knob installed? “S” is meant to be used with suppressors.

I assume it is the regular 8 position knob, no S but is marked 5.56 on the end.

Welcome to the PSA community @MajrKong :us:

Fully rotated counterclockwise it won’t cycle at all–when viewed from the muzzle end. Assuming that’s closest to closed.
I get failure to feed almost every round in fully open Full clockwise I presume. Bolt will lock back with one rd. Using Lancer mags and 62gr X-TAC ammo. Just wonderful.

Which knob are you using and are you using a suppressor?

Welcome to the PSA community @adonai_mine :us:

No suppressor. The latest hard to describe knob. It’s not the older vertical knob. This one is sort of roundish.

Does it have an ‘s’ on it? If so that is the knob for suppressor use.

No. It’s like this one posted above: Very difficult to get to, to try and remove being under the handguard. I’m guessing full clockwise is full open from the angle of this pic?

Yes

Did some shooting today. Gun is well lubed, even the sled.
With two different Lancer mags, failure to feed. Even using the bolt release on a new mag, the bolt would not pick up the 1st rd. Bolt always locks back after last rd shot.
With Pmag Gen3-- Didn’t have (out of only 10rds–limited ammo) any failure to feed, but the bolt would not lock back after last rd. I only had 20 rds with me today. Ordered more. Same PMC X-TAC. 62 gr.
Brass ejecting around 3:30 w Pmag. Around 3:00 with Lancer. Gas block wide open. I think there are two issues going on. One, the gas block is crap causing weak ejection with the Pmag and the other a possible manufacturing defect somewhere creating the feed problem with Lancer mags. Opinions?
Just filled out the RMA form.

Haven’t heard anything from PSA. How long does it usually take after completing the RMA form?

I am new to Jakl and just received my rifle today. It’s a 16" 5.56 with an 8-position gas regulator knob. I am not planning on shooting suppressed, just 5.56 and .223 rounds brass, no supersonic or steel.

{Apologies in advance for sounding stupid]
What would be the most common setting for the gas knob to shoot 5.56/.223 brass rounds, non-suppressed?

Did you mean no subsonic?

No sir! No subsonic. 223 55GR FMJ or 5.56 M193 55GR FMJ. Approx ~3,000 ft/s.

Probably 2 or 3. You may need to go to 1 or 4 depending on brand of ammo.
