Only production rifle designed to shoot 22 short, no suppression needed!

Im really tempted, but the price everywhere is even higher than PSA. I thought about the Rossi for $200 but its action is made of zinc parts which are known to fail. Anyone have an old Henry 22 pump they’re tired of looking at for $200?

Best of luck in your search.

I restored a winchester pump for a buddy 25+ yeats back. After a house fire causing smoke dammage the gun was propped up under a roof leak in a shed for 20 years.

I filed out the chamber damage from dry fire, stripped the soot encrusted furniture then refinished it. Took the barrel down to bare steel then reblued it after hand sanding to match the satin finish.

Buddy had no care for it to be collectable, just functional and close to how it looked when he was a kid. The smile he had when i returned it to him was priceless.

Wow! Your a faithful friend…
My once close military friend suffered a non-occupied house fire and his AR15 and 45 were metal damaged. Years later I noticed one of my AR15 was missing and casually informed him of it and was in the process of reporting the loss, however he stopped me and confessed he took and later sold it. I asked why he didn’t bjust ask me for it as I would have gladly given it to him. He said that I already owned enough and feld after all he has helped me, it was OK. He offered to pay me back but I told him all is forgiven because I was forgiven at the cross. But he never got over it and became a stranger.i

OK I’m going to go change my 2000 Accord transmission oil. When I get back I’d like a respose, i.e. "you should definitely buy it, “we’re going to buy it for you”, “you should pass on it”…

I have a Rossi m62 from the 80’s that my grandfather bought, and that thing rocks and rolls with no isssues… ive loved that little pump rifle for years… and havent always been gentle with her… now today i cant say how good they are made if they are zinc parts, but iknow the one i have from the 80s is pleanty sturdy and solid. i bet that H&R would also be just as durable, and would be a good heriloom gift for your family.

Yup, from our perspective today the 80’s were wonderful and not just for low cost gun quality. God forgive me but if I had a Time-Machine Id go there to live out my retirement and blow the machine up lol.

Some friend there. I suppose people change over time. If he would have mentioned that he needed one after the fire you probably would have given it to him. The fact that he took it and sold it implies other issues so you’re probably better off without him lurking around. You might want to find some discreet/secure storage spots for your collection.

The Rossi should be more than adequate for general plinking with a 22. You might not want it for a high volume gallery.

You ALL forgot the Browning 22 Short auto. I traded for one in the early 80s. It shot really good, and I dropped a lot of squirrels with it. I kept it for a few years and was offered more than I thought it was worth. 20-20 hindsight working again!!!

Man, I’d love something other than our crickett for 22short (quiets) It’s better than nothing, when you just want to plink and smell powder, but single shot every time gets old. A buddy just won a Henry lever at a Ducks Unlimited we went to. I think those do 22shorts as well as LR……
