If gun owners and the religious (regardless of which faith) would register and vote their personal convictions regarding the Constitution and personal freedoms, the result would change the outcome of this and all future elections. Unless your in IL lol your vote only counts if you live in Chicago, Peoria, or Champaign/Urbana. And honestly the black community has the power to change the State around. Hope they come around up there in the city. Only getting rid of the electoral colleges will give this state a fair election. until then Chicago will decide our fate.

Easiest way to get immediately dismissed from jury duty is to read a gun magazine in the lobby.

I swear im the only person to not get called for jury duty that wants to go. I get to judge someone, thats not any everyday thing, pretty wild if you ask me. Def an experience id like to have, Not the poor paycheck or crappy meal tho.
I got called and served on a jury for a murder + attempted murder charge a couple years ago. Trial lasted all week, which was paid time off from my job. Which is good, because jury duty only paid $15 a day (i think it was. Maybe $20).
Turned out the defendant was being set up for a hit by the guys he shot (some young punks that wanted to kill him over disrespecting one of their moms) and he defended himself. One died doing what he loved, and the other was wounded and perjured himself on the witness stand several times.
Slam dunk not-guilt verdict from us, but we dragged it out another day because the lunches we were getting were amazing
Yeah, got questioned about innocent until proven guilty, etc. after first hearing the prosecutions case in a murder pre- trial. The defense didn’t like my answer and he rejected me as a potential juror. An 18 year old kid shot and killed a 15 year old kid over a music CD. The 18 yr old gave it to the victims sister as they were dating, when they broke up, she gave it to her younger brother. The shooter demanded that the victim give it up. He said no, so the 18 yr old pulled out a hand gun and blew the kid away. There were about 10 witnesses present from 8 or 9 years old and up. Over a lousy $10 CD. - After hearing the evidence and number of witnesses, defense asked if I thought the burden of proof was on the prosecution. I said of course, but the defense (who presented nothing during pretrial) better have some better reason to shoot and kill a kid than a lousy $10…
The trial was the next day, and the jury came back with guilty verdict after only 15 minutes of deliberation.
My jury duty last week was Continuous Sexual Assault of a Child Under 14. Obviously I didn’t get picked with my background. The Voir Dire sounded like an outcry from the child to another adult. I would like to have served, or at least sat in on the trial if I didn’t have to work.

No, but the system is built upon money. Whether taxpayers or other. If you pay for an attorney and feed the system, you will probably get off or with reduced fine/sentence.
If you broke (and can’t feed the system) - you doin time…
Not on lawbreakers side at all, just observation over my 65 years. It is a money hungry machine - Lawyers, Judges, Clerks, etc. Jails make money housing people too. Some folks definitely belong locked up, but one way or the other, money is exchanged. A necessary evil or institution if you will, to maintain law and order.
God bless the Policemen who have to deal with all of that to maintain a civil society. They don’t get paid squat, and take all of the grief and criticism and risk life and limb. My father in law was a Police Officer for 38 years, plus 10 years as Security Police in the Air Force. He didn’t stay in the same city his whole career, so absolutely zero pension. Sometimes they get praise for their efforts, if it is politically correct to do so. Yes there are bad cops too, but society nowadays groups them all in the same negative light.
My motto - It’s way cheaper to stay on the right side of the law than the wrong side. My son asked me a long time ago, he’s 40. 'Dad what do you do every day? ’ I said that I try as hard as I can not to go to jail or get a damn ticket. 
True money is almost the root of every problem. Sad ppl treat it like a faith.
How do we get from ‘GO VOTE’ to ‘JURY DUTY’? Oh yeah, ‘That Guy’ is on the ballot. I hope I didn’t make ‘PLEASE VOTE’ political (you should hear me smirk). I started this thread two years ago, and her we are again. Please, VOTE. Not only is it your Constitutional Duty, or may just be the most important thing you do with your life. Elections really do have consequences, good and bad. As far as the politics… it’s all pure evil. An election will not change your life. Change will not come to the White House unless changes are made in our house. Get on your knees, put your face in the carpet and pray, repent and pray again. Only then will God Bless America.
