Does anyone happen to know if a Shadow Systems Firing Pin will fit the PSA Dagger? I ordered one the other night on sale for 41$ because of all the complaints about the Dagger firing pin. Would Also love to find a decent set of pins to replace the roll pins/spring pins I ordered some gen3 pins but no luck, they slide right through the frame any help or advice would be awesome, thanks in advance.*
It should fit. And be assured there is not an issue with dagger firing pins. What you read online is an extremely small fraction of actual dagger users. The dagger has sold a tremendous # of guns with zero issues. Also, use the roll pins that come with it. There are to my knowledge not any replacement pins that fit.
I feel like all these “complaints” about Dagger firing pins are typical Reddit-tier commentary from those looking to absolutely dissect a product they’ve decided they don’t like, exactly like all the “experts” always going on about how “problematic” the PSA AKs are even though they consistently both equal and outperform other brands in actual tests.
Dang, just some minor questions. thanks for the stiff answers tho. I can see people aren’t as chill in gun forums as they are in car forums. I’ll probably stick to reading rather than posting
Its not that folks here arnt chill, its just that the negative voices are sometimes the loudest. Despite what PSA has done for the industry people love to hate on them.
Sorry for giving advice to help you save money and avoid unnecessary work.
It seems you didn’t get the answer you wanted and I know it meant a lot since you posted it 5 times across the forum.
If it helps at all, go ahead and buy that thing and install it. It won’t make the Dagger any better. But I’ll feel good knowing that you’ll sleep better.
You didn’t “ask minor questions”, though. You came into a brand-specific forum and made repeated posts definitively stating something in a major product of theirs as a well-known issue when it very much isn’t, then got incredulous and defensive about it upon being corrected.
Like I said, this reeks of someone reading something on Reddit (notorious brand-humpers, price snobs, and self-proclaimed “experts”) then coming running here. PSA generates a lot of hate online, and mass majority of it is completely unwarranted. I, as a realist, fully believe it’s because they’ve done a great job showing exactly how the firearm industry price gouges consumers and a lot of people just can’t handle that idea, so in turn they go to any length they can to nitpick and discredit the brand. In their minds it’s just simply not possible for a company to sell good, functional, reliable firearms at reasonable prices where there’s another end game goal in mind than the highest possible profit margin per unit. I get it though, an MR920 is a basically a gussied-up Glock that sells for $700-$1k+, so it must have a “better” firing pin, right?
We really are a great group of folks in here.
Do we operate a little different than other online gun forums? Yes absolutely, but we don’t mean any harm to the new folks. We tend to protect our own in here but please hang around and give the forum and us a chance to show you. @davidpollard98
I own two Daggers. I had a firing pin break in one of them. I posted about it previously. It might be a problem for a small number of Daggers manufactured, but it’s still an annoying, and potentially serious problem depending on the situation. I have photos of the cross section of the firing pin that show what appears to me to be a flaw in the core of the part.
It’s funny how some people who don’t have a problem seem to like belittling people who do. It’s unfortunate that this person comes on here seeking help, or advice, and instead gets a ration of crap. I love my Daggers and have been using one as an EDC, but when there’s a problem there’s a problem. PSA didn’t respond to my Emails about the problem either. On another occasion I did get a response on a problem with an AR-15, and prompt service on it. Facts are facts, opinions are opinions.
Yeah, except this person didn’t have a problem and the firing pins don’t break often. Those are the facts. Your opinion is all the rest of your post. There’s a very large difference between “my gun broke, are there options for putting in different parts?” and posting 6 times in 6 different topics saying “I hear my gun is going to have issues, can I put this other brand part in it?” when nothing has gone wrong at all.
Yeah I already got my Shadow Systems firing pin delivered and in my gun a few days ago. If you’re wondering, yes it does help me sleep better at night knowing my firing pin won’t snap in a life or death situation.
I have 3 dagger slides I have had 2 firing pins break this year. It does worry me because these are my main hand guns. PSA replaced them no questions asked. Which is good. But that won’t save me or my family if one breaks on my worst day. PSA should look into if the can get a better steel to make them from.
