Okay guys. I hate to only come here and post to “complain”. I purchased my first dagger a year ago. Out of the box, I noticed that the slide was having issues when being mounted onto the frame. I contacted tech support and I got it sent back. Palmetto was awesome and rectified the issue. They advised that the ejector was out of spec and catching on the firing pin. A few months later, I noticed my slide was becoming patchy on the finish and the TLC finish started to literally rub off and show bare metal. I ended up cutting my loss and having my local gun smith refinish it in a cerakote (he is cerakote certified). Fast forward to yesterday, I finally got to the range and after only 200 rounds I noticed that the barrel has what I would call excessive wear. It seems like the barrel or slide is also either out of spec, or the finish was just a crappy job. I know it’s wear and it’s a tool but should a newer gun with only 200 rounds be this beat up? what are your guys thoughts on this? What would you all do? I’m seriously not pleased with this and expect a little better quality. Not to mention I had to pay to get the slide refinished because the TLC wore off. By the way this was NOT a blemished pistol.
Lube it up and shoot it!
Is the hood of your barrel consistent with this wear?
The Daggers have tighter tolerances, might not look pretty, but she’ll run true and fine.
Guns that “wear in” are my most reliable ones.
I see wear and tear. Lube and blast away. Once shot, guns dont stay like they looked when they came out the box.

Mine doesn’t look anywhere near that bad after 6-700 rounds now. But, if it functions fine I wouldn’t care. Just monitor to make sure it’s not taking too much material away over time. If it finally self clears and stops wearing more, just keep it that way as some battle wear.
Barrel wear comes from contact with the slide during use. No barrel marks means NO CONTACT- which means loosely fit.
Counter intuitive. People don’t get this. It is a sign of quality and a close fit. it should be self limited when the slide and barrel match mated dimensions. Refinishing the same part will just exhibit wear again, since any finish applied increases the dimensional aspects of that part and the same contact starts over again.
Go shoot it sand stop staring at it. If it functions, leave it alone.
Slide and barrel <$200. Go buy a new barrel if you’re that worried about it and you’re still in for less money than a factory Glock. I’ve noticed my Faxon barrels wear a little less quickly but I really don’t care. They all run well and cosmetics are not a concern to me.
This is the problem with the just as good mind set. Lesson learn it’s not. Should have save your money for a Glock
