Is this normal wear?

I just got this slide about a month ago and took it shooting once. Is it normal to have this already on the slide ?

Looks like holster wear. Kydex?

Honestly not sure the brand holster I’m using . It’s the one from PSA made for dagger with optic as that is what slide I had on before

PSA seems to have a little thinner coating as evidenced by the micro. Holeyer wear is going to happen, especially with kydex. You can probably adjust the holster screws in the muzzle area to help that not be as bad of a rub area.

I will do that, im a little bummed by the wear already. I guess I can’t complain since this is my carry. It’s not made to be pretty but it’s a brand new slide  I enjoyed the all black sleek look

I did what GG said the day l got the holster for my sniper green Dagger 2 yrs ago. Unholstered a lot and still no wear.

All my carry guns have holster wear. One of my 1911s was so bad i recently refinished it.

The colored ones are cerakoted. That will have a thicker finishe than something like nitride or bluing.

Got a Ruger Security 9 and the wear is evident big time.

My 2 year old compact sniper green is worn like that. Kydex holster. I personally am not bothered one bit as I consider it to be very much not a safe queen. But I certainly do not fault anyone else for being concerned about it.
edit: lcp max has no wear at all. In and out of its kydex holster.

My EDC G2c has barely anything left on the slide where it rubs against my skin. This is after ten years, though.

The Dagger that sits at my bedside on a magnet has finish wear where the magnet meets the slide. I couldn’t care less.

Guns that get used show wear. That’s a simple fact, and it is what it is. If someone shows you a Glock that inside and out looks like it just came out of the box, that’s a Glock that isn’t carried and hardly ever gets shot.

Holster wear (or as i call it Petina) is down right Sexy. it shows the firearm is well loved. and that is a good thing. dont ever be upset at holster wear, or sad or embarrassed by it. it means your firearm was well loved, and used as they are supposed to be used.

Only downside to wear depending on the gun’s steel and coatings, is rust.
If I get enough wear I spraypaint mine then start over re-wearing it in.

Battle scars! imo, any with a mint gun, really doesnt use it…all normal, have same on my slide due to polymer holster wear…

If it does happen to be from your holster then I would recommend putting duct tape inside of the holster. One single layer for flat areas and a second layer for the areas that are not flat. I did that when I first got my holster and do not have any holster marks.
