Refinished Grandfathers .22LR

I’m lucky enough to have a gun from each of my grandfathers. One is a Winchester Red Letter 16ga, the other is a Squires Bingham .22LR semi auto.

The Winchester is 100% original, and I’ll never refinish it. The Squires was in SAD shape. Over Christmas I stripped and refinished the stock, and added a scope. Somewhere along the way the front sight blade fell off, and it was actually cheaper to equip it with an inexpensive optic.

Impressive. How old is the 22?

Oh wow. That’s super awesome. Great job!

I’ve been tempted to pick one of these up… I see them from time to time and they’re nice looking .22s. This may make me grab one lol. Great job OP.

Your refinished stick probably looks better than it came from the factory.

What a beautiful memory. I’m jealous. My grandfather owned a Hungarian copy of a Hi-Power he brought back from his time in the Air Force. Somehow, my idiot sister ended up with it and she claimed it was “stolen” out of her truck. I’m pretty sure she sold it. It was all I ever wanted of his.

I’m glad for you that you have this.
