Reloading for the PA 10

Hello group, has anyone had issues reloading for the PA 10? I’m getting about 0.003" of expansion on lower half of the case. I’ve tried just neck sizing the fired brass but the cases stick or don’t fully seat when bolt closes. Full length sizing works but it’s a bit of a job resizing 0.003 expansion. Any insight would be appreciated

I have to full length size for my AR-10 in 308 but I have not measured it (note to self to do that). For my bolt guns, just neck size. It’s a PITA but still cheaper than buying it, and a lot more accurate.

What is your preferred load for your AR10?

Happy 4th of July everyone!
Does anyone have issues with resizing once fired brass from your PA-10? My brass is 0.003" larger at lower third of the case making it very difficult to resize. I’m using RCBS 308 SB carbide dies.

I can’t give you measurements on my cases, and I’m using a Bear Creek upper and barrel, but I have to use a small base die for mine. The first time resizing range brass is sometimes hard. If it feels like it’s going to stick I pull the case out, relube it and turn it about 90º and run it through the die. Occasionally I’ll have a case that I need to do this to three times for this initial sizing. Once it’s been fired in my rifle resizing isn’t a problem.

You can NOT just neck size the case when using a semi auto… a bolt action yes…the chamber is sealed and locked so not real expansion of the case in width or length…not much anyway…as to a SA given the way it operates allows the case to expand in moth W/L…you have to Full Length Re-size the case, no getting around it. I’ve been reloading .308 for almost 20yrs…for both Bolt and SA.
