What’s really important is your EDC need Im assuming you’ve already worked that out, if so perfect. For me I have to be carful because I’ve made mistakes buying great deals I didn’t really want or need. IMO Holosun make the best all round cost optic, but Ive heard their solar-powered optics have issues. Just research more, look around, and consider your needs then buy it.
I’ve run plenty of their optics and only had to return 2 for a replacement out of maybe 8 or so. And it was out of box too, not later down the line.
The 507 and many of their optics are not actually solar only, it’s a backup mode you CAN use, but it doesn’t charge the battery as it uses disposables.
An example of one of my mistakes was the purchase of a combo pistol optics on sale. The pistol P365-X Comp is in my opinion the best all around pistol I’ve ever owned. However the Rome-0 Elite optic is overall awful, and at best OK. The battery placement, unreliable shake-awake, poor zero hold, and battery life is way lacking IMO.
Also because it was a pistol / optic combo mounted at the factory, Sig provided no optic cover plate to remove the optic temporarily, but requires a separate order. Nevertheless it is my favorite target pistol and home defense pajama gun.

I had a P365XL before and purposely avoided the included optic version, and also told customers to avoid them. The optics that came on them lacked many features that the Holosun 5/407K did, including durability. And the separate cost of the optic was barely lower than the price of the 407K. I put one on mine and it ran great.

I also have one on my EDC. Dont laugh now but my EDC is the G4X lol. For me its small light and fast, sirt of like my old 97 Honda Accord Vtec lol
GX4 is a nice gun, when you get a good one. From what I’ve seen selling em, Taurus QC went back down after I got my G3 from them. Never saw any bad GX4’s though, but the Spectrums had a lot of issues.
Well of course the minute I say something good about Taurus, they send out emails about US made GX4 safety recalls. Check your email and/or the Taurus site about that asap.

The thing is, I actually LIKE my Taurus firearms! I want to Love that company, but they can sometimes make it so dang-O Hard…
For me it’s never been brand loyalty, but what fits and works for me at reasonable prices, of course PSA wins the price/works award everyday and twice on Hollidays. But seriously the GX4 for me fits and the trigger is the best in category.
