Absolutely, which is why I switched to a pinned adaptor that allows the loading of mini’s and full lenth without requiring a change. Loads can be mix matched and if you trip or drop your Mossberg the adapter stays put.

Following some of the threads, I’m sure some questions will come up about either the GAU-8 Avenger hanging out the nose of the A-10 or the 105mm Howitzer hanging out the side of the venerable AC-130 being a viable solution to what’s being discussed.

My cats reliably cycle mini shells
My dogs cycle 2 3/4 shells reliably
I repeat I’m not a slider. However I am the happy (notice I didn’t say proud) owner of the .45 and 10mm, and they’re fun to shoot. In fact they alternate as my HDC, just encase I run into a pack of coyotes, and they do stock you if your alone, well me anyway. But a warning shot usually scatters them.
