You can use supersonic ammo with a can. It will still be loud though because the ammo breaks the sound barrier.

was using my 22 cal pellet gun to scare/get rid of some vermin that was just out of range and wife asked if I had anything more powerful, of course I said yes, but it is to loud and might let the neighbors know what we are doing. so I made the comment I probably need to get a suppressor for the AR22 and she said. well get one!!

Get the ded.22 pistol 7 1/2" barrel never ever tried subs before and l was douhting if it would even cycle. I’m running Eley 38gr 1040fps. Fire, reset, fire, reset 10 rounds…then burst away! Not one hiccup. Y’all know these actions can be picky. The report and action working together was awesome!

i think the magic number with barrel length is 5.5"…anything under that (i use 4.5") will make the normal 1200fps ammo subsonic
with the short barrel, there is really no difference in sound between the 1235fps and the 1050, so i run the fast stuff since its cheaper and much easier to find
Same-same here - I have no pistol that I run a can on that’s longer than a 4” barrel; it’s snicker-giggle fun how quiet supers are through the cans.
An aside: my Nephew is “on the spectrum” and loud sounds disturb him greatly. He loves to shoot - however he can only handle just so much. But this last weekend, he probably had the best time I ever saw him have at the range after we put one of my cans on his 10/22.

Manual for my can states clean the can every 1,000 rnds or so. That seems excessive to me?
